Re: [Florian Campaign] Operation Retribution
Summary:
- The Jingdaoese administration installs the General Government of the Florian State and brings certain aspects of the state (foreign and military affairs) under direct military command of the Military Governor, Tzao Yao.
- Further aerial attacks on Shirerithian positions in Floria.
FLORIAN STATE
The past few weeks had been very fruitful for the Florian Minister Hai Yong. His boss, president Smith, had recently signed a peace treaty with the Natopians in which she had ceded the whole southern territory, including Blythe, to the Natopians. This piece of paper which had, in eyes of any self-respecting Florian, the value of a stone on the road (and since the war there were a lot of those lying around), had even further angered large parts of the population. The House of Commons, still defunct, had had no say whatsoever and the other Ministers had been informed after the deal was struck. Not that Yong couldn't have stopped it, but why would he? His own political goals were best served when the Liberals were the bad guys in this story, and not the liberating Jing, who in their turn relied heavily on the few Hondonese in Floria. The Liberal Party's popularity had received a blow, the Labour Party was in a crisis and the Independence Party - which under Farrar had quite a lot of influence - was now illegal and forbidden to participate in politics. Their politicians were hunted down by the Jingdaoese and anyone who dared to support them would find themselves in a labour camp if they weren't careful.
There was no better moment to launch the National Spiritual Mobilization Movement, a new political party which replaced the former Conservatives, and received tremendous support from the military and Jingdaoese investments. On the 26th December, the Jingdaoese finally decided that keeping foreign and military affairs in hands of the Florian administration would be risky at best.
With support of most politicians, the General Government of the Florian State was proclaimed in Northcliff. Field Marshal Tzao Yao received the dubious honour of becoming Military Governor, while Hai Yong was secretly put in charge to organise elections in the districts deemed 'safe and secure' (read: the regions where the pro-Jing Movement would receive sufficient support) and introduce a series of reforms that would 'jingdaoise' the Florians.
Hundreds of Jingdaoese and Hondonese had been moving into Floria for the past few days: most of them were families of soldiers who fought at the front. Their know how would aid in the restoration of the nation, while at the same time promote the creation of a more pro-Jing culture. Stories about old folk heroes, like the Prophet Floris, the mythical founder and protector of Floria in the days after Jingdao left the region, were revived and taught to the youngsters.
Floria would revive. Stronger and better than ever before. That was something Hai Yong was certain of. But the war in the south would not make it any easier.
DRAGONMOOR
The Jingdaoese Forces keep marching towards the enemy. Several armed, but minor, conflicts and clashes between both sides led to small Jingdaoese victories but no real breakthrough is reached (no real attempt is made). At the same time the tank units make an attempt to encircle Dragonmoor. The positions of the enemy are bombed. MediaFort, one of the city quarters of Dragonmoor, suffers heavily when a bomb falls on a secret meth lab and starts a huge fire.
