Elections
Elections really should happen for the board if people want to keep this up. I have no intention to have any position on the board and if you don't have elections will just resign as Chairman anyway; however, if people are interested to have elections, I'm happy to facilitate them in terms of setting up polls and dates etc.
For now, I'll open nominations if there is any interest in elections; and come back in a month to start elections if there is more than one person nominated for positions. That should give everyone plenty of time to nominate if they want; and to finish the Montuak war by the time the new Board is elected.

Re: Elections
There's still interest, then, clearly.
For reference, the five board positions according to the convention are:
i. The Chair of the Board of Trustees, responsible for chairing debate of Board as well as bringing proposals for discussion. He shall be tasked with preserving the spirit of the Anunia ruleset.
ii. The Judicial Member, responsible for selecting and preserving the standards of a Board approved recwar judiciary.
iii. The Unit Costing Member, responsible for maintaining the unit costing lists and providing guidelines upon direction from a judge.
iv. The Common Law Member, responsible for maintaining the Common Law of recwar (non-Annunia included) and providing it upon direction from a judge.
v. The Ordinary Member.

Re: Elections
Since nothing much happens in Uantir anymore, but I have no intention of drifting off into obscurity, I would like to hold a position, especially with the upcoming recwar.
The last big one with Ocia was fascinating, and I read it avidly. I am fairly familiar with the convention having read it through during the aforementioned war. In addition, being an actual soldier in the U.S. Army currently, might lend benefitial insight.

Re: Elections
I don't care about elections and positions, but I'll post various thoughts and issues regarding the recwar that I see as a judge. Current one right now is that this approval prep process is taking way, way too long. The original "Antica demands control over Montauk" was posted on August 4... a month and a half ago. And we STILL have Anticans telling us to hold up and Interlanders with really weird orbats and no actual declaration of war. Maybe judges need absolute authority to just interpret OrBats on the spot and forcifully set start dates since it's becoming increasingly obvious that the players aren't going to try to fix these issues on their own.

Re: Elections
Cool. Judges making comments and remembering issues each war brings up is exactly what Anunia needs to keep improving.

Re: Elections
I think that Annunia may require judges to submit a report to the Board on the war they judged to see if we can make improvements. Not a single judge has though.
The problem that Montauk is creating is Anticans saying they're not ready and Interlandians putting forward Orbats which are problematic to the Convention (admittedly it might be due to different traditions in the Polish sector). I think the Anticans are ready but are for some reason playing for time. I agree with what you say Harvey about automatic interpretation and forced start dates as I personally can't afford to keep hanging on until the war starts for all that much longer. But I still don't think that will work. I tried automatically interpreting ORBATS during the Jasonia War and ran into all kinds of trouble when I had questions and asked for reconsideration. As for forced start dates, you simply can't have a war without the participants.

Re: Elections
I withdraw the nomination of myself for the board.
I also have a quick question: Are the judges appointed and Anunia created for us, i.e. the recwarrers, or is it the other way around? Otherwise, I see no problem with waiting a while so that everyone that wants to participate can do that, regardless of the position of individual judges on the matter.

Re: Elections
If more time waiting = more participants for the delayed war, then I'd support waiting as long as we need to, but I don't think that's a fair assumption to make. The system doesn't encourage people to just give up and leave, but it happens anyway. People get bored of stuff amazingly, almost pathetically fast. Someone who signed up for the war on day 1 might not care so much about starting the war on day 50. There's no guarantees that a single one of those OrBats will ever actually see conflict.I also have a quick question: Are the judges appointed and Anunia created for us, i.e. the recwarrers, or is it the other way around? Also, while clearly the judges and the charter are designed to support the recwarrers, do not forget that we are people too. We have schedules that we have to keep in our own real life and we, much like the recwarring parties themselves, can grow weary of frustration, whining, a conflict that seemed more fun at is inception than it does after a few months.

Well, I think that both sides would reluctantly accept your resignation if you feel that your workload in the preparation for this war is too great.
