Is there any information about how wiki micronations work?
Re: Wiki nation
As we see it, you create a presence, with a wiki or a website or a forum.
Then if it matures, you claim some Micras land. And then you are there.
I think it is what you make of it after then, contact is a bit unregulated, by these forums or directly thru each other own forums for interaction.
It looks a bit chaotic.

Re: Wiki nation
As Micras' only really wiki-based nation who participates in actively, let me explain this:
Wiki nations are only called such because their primary source of online presence in term of domestic work is put on a wiki. The most popular ones are the Micronations Wikia and micronation.org. These nations differ from forum-based nations in that their communications and diplomatic communications are usually based in informal areas such as facebook and skype, rather than on a national area.
Wiki nations are not solely working on a wiki. Unlike a forum-based nation, or a website-based nation, wiki nations' domestic activity is generally off-line, and their wiki articles are updated purely to keep information current, and to add to recent history (along with creating background pages).
Due to this, wiki nations often appear to have only one or two active citizens, as these are the ones who update the wiki and conduct diplomatic relations. However, it is quite commons for these nations to have multiple citizens who participate offline. For example, Senya has over 50 citizens, however I'm the only one who bothers going online and doing the talking (although several other Senyan citizens have participated in meetings with other nations).
As such, wiki nations behave differently from forum or web based nations, and shouldn't be lumped in the "Oh, they've not got a forum they're not worth it", because we generally are. Generally.

We're mostly wiki-based too, it's just we hastily put up forums to make it seem more Micrasy.

Re: Wiki nation
Do or could a micronation exist entirely in a wiki format?
Re: Wiki nation
Yes, but they are generally difficult to maintain and fall apart quickly.Kris wrote:Do or could a micronation exist entirely in a wiki format?
Re: Wiki nation
For what reason or reasons does this usually happen?
Re: Wiki nation
Because updating the wiki page dosen't go towards creating cultural development. If your nation only exists on the wiki, then it's easy to just slip into the habit of editing "Only when neccesary". Also, the repetitiveness of it often, in my experience, drived people away.
