Chrisimgules
First off, I was going to post this yesterday, but lost internet connection just before I could finish my post and click submit.
Chris, your post about detecting the lovelian fleet is a bit puzzling. Not that it matters now, since Montague already posted, but anyhow here goes:
1. What is the Guardian EWA? Like Montague mentioned, the best AWACS/AEW system works at a range of 600 to 700 kms. Yours is over 2,000 kms. Also, detecting submarines without having to dip sonar bouys or something like that is, as far as i know, impossible. Unless off course if the submarine is not submerged, which isn't the case here. So, i am curious as to how you managed that?
2. I am actually puzzled by how you managed to track the entire lovely fleet. Because:
a. you started late. your units would be quite far back when lovely fleet was en route.
b. you had no idea where to find the lovely fleet in the first place to even begin tracking.
c. even if you found it by luck, you detecting them would lead to them detecting you and thus, you wouldn't have followed them for sooo long without them not knowing about your presence (like mentioned in your post). just by reading montague's post, i can't tell if his ships are in one place, or spread quite a bit. but i did read that an AWACS and 2 JSFs were to be in air at all times.
Anyways, it matters not now since Montague already posted a reply. And no, this is not a complaint to the judges. I was just curious about the capabilities of the Guardian as well as how the fleet was tracked.
Oh, another thing I wanted to know was if foghorn's unit is also present with this naval unit of Chris. Or is foghorn's unit back in New Brannum? Whose special forces are those that are flying to Alexandria?
And since its Alexandria (non-participant), does Annunia require a proof from Alexandria saying they (anticans) are allowed to do this ?

Re: Chrisimgules
I didn't notice any reference to Alexandria, but if they are flying there, it would probably be nice if Alexandria could post saying it's fine. Considering its Alexandria and Antica I don't forsee problems, but to set a nice precedent ...

Re: Chrisimgules
I had the very same concerns which is what I mentioned in my explanation of response. I didnt want to respond with query after query because of the implications it might have about abuse of judical power that's been invested in me. But they are the concerns I had in replying to that post and I worked to the best of my abilities to find a way to reconcile those difficulties with the narrative thread. I've suggested a way to make the situation work (ELINT intercepts) but that will make locations of our fleets vague and not entirely correct, just approximations. I hope you accept that also.
Andreas, there's already a precedent regarding it from the War of Matbaaic Liberation. Stormark bombers were allowed to use radar plots and facilities from an Alexandrian base of my fleet so they could bomb it. Wasn't necessarily pleased with it, but its a precedent.

According to sections 2, 6, and 8 of the most recent treaty between Antica and Alexandria, so long as Chris does not launch an attack from Alexandrian soil, attack them, or attempt to overthrow their government, he should be well within his rights to send troops there. A friendly call beforehand asking permission would admittedly seem to be a good idea, but it doesn't require one.

Foghorn, how would you like it if a military force turned up unannounced in Antica? I know I wouldn't if it happened in Lovely.

Usually if a non-participant is being used, its best to get their approval known to the other participants. True, your treaty allows that, but the rest of us didn't know your treaty.
This is just to avoid things like me saying "my jets escape to Alexandria to avoid getting blown out of sky by 10 times the number of enemies." Obviously you'd want to know if Alexandria approves or not.

Re: Chrisimgules
I've discussed Chris' plans with him. They seem to be within the spirit of the MRWS, the rules of engagement, and other preexisting arrangements. Plus, if his scheme actually pans out (doubtful, but stranger things have happened) there's some really awesome writing and a "holy shit is he really gunna do that?!" moment that would be enjoyed by all.
My counsel is that the judges should allow this engagement between Chris and the Lovely fleet to proceed. The two sides are evenly matched, and with any luck will provide a few days worth of excellent writing from both sides. As for the Alexandrian issue, I assure you that nothing is going to occur that would anger the Alexandrians, and nothing is being done that can't be done right now by (for example) Italian soldiers in the United States. However, the final decision belongs to the judge.

Re: Chrisimgules
I'm looking forward to fighting Chris...........if he ever turns up to reply.
Consult Vilhelm on it then. Obviously not me.
If it turns out to be a bit like Britain and Chile during the Falklands though, if I was neutral in the issue and capable of judging it I wouldn't allow it just so you know.
If his plan is to try and take anyone captive from my ships btw, ask the Novatainians about the feasibility of it. God knows they've tried it against me before.

Yeah, any attempted prisoners have a tendency to have heart attacks just before you nab 'em

Re: Chrisimgules
Regarding your latest post about you and your rafting crew, its not Babkhan, its Shirerithian. Ardashir is playing as a Shirerithian commander i believe. Unless off course his unit is entirely Babkhan or something.
But quite a nice story there. Would have been funnier to see it turn out as LOST or something though.

Re: Chrisimgules
Well, considering that Ardy posted his first post in the Babkhan forums, I assumed that they were at least ethnic Babkhans.
