Re: 2017 Colney Cup
quite surprised by Senya but at least a 4-2 win...something to smile about.
Deniz Yürük, Tsaloj of Birgeshir
Re: 2017 Colney Cup
Yeah, Birgeshir, Gerenia and Senya were quite close, any of them could have won it, so we were unlucky to finish last, but at least we won the two games in the play-offs

Final
Gerenia took on Craitland in front of a packed out Svorgas FC Stadium. The Senyans in the crowd, keeping up with their rivalry, were cheering on the Craites, who were looking to star striker Jon-Lydveldt F'echhamlär to keep up his goal scoring exploits at the tournament. Meanwhile, Gerenia were unchanged from the side that put four past Hoenn in the semi-finals, having navigate a tricky group with maximum points.
And it was the Gerenians, in their traditional blue, who started off on the front foot, with Arien Vatsk flashing an effort across the face of the goal early on. Mikkel Desarge forced Francis Hjansen into a sprawling save, before Pavel Maharen, who bagged a hat-trick in the semi, blazed over from 12 yards out. Craitland soon settled, and almost took the lead when F'echhamlär hit the crossbar from the edge of the box, but neither side could force much more on target as the game got bogged down in the middle of the park and the teams went into the break goalless.
The second half took a while to get going, but when it did, it exploded. On 71 minutes, substitute Ärige Trehat hit the bar, only for Craitland to go up the other end and F'echhamlär to hit the post. Subsequently a goal mouth scramble which saw efforts from both F'echhamlär and Cräiĵaär Zen cleared, before at the other end Maharen forced a superb save from Hjansen, with the goalkeeper acrobatically tipping the ball over. But with neither side looking like they could break down the opposition as the game towards into extra time, it was time for F'echhamlär to prove his quality, beating three players before rounding the keeper and slotting home to cause rapturous scenes in the crowd with just a minute to go. Gerenia couldn't offer up an equaliser, and Craitland celebrated a youth title that they had fought hard to win.
Gerenia 0-1 Craitland
89' Jon-Lydveldt F'echhamlär
