May Wanderers 'looking to spend big' says source
A source close to May Wanderers has claimed that the club are looking to break their transfer record in this window. The club received Cr 21 million in prize money from this season after winning the Premier League and reaching the FA Cup final, and it looks as though they already have their eye on Alexandrian international Alexis Carrasco, with some reports saying they will be bidding in the region of Cr 8 million for the player. The news that May are looking for a striker could be a sign that Matt Fitzgerald is on his way out of Mercury, after a bid of Cr 7 million was made from Napian club SC Antarctica.

Jamie Dent released on compassionate grounds
Tow Law midfielder Jamie Dent has been released by the club on compassionate grounds after he recently announced publicly that he has AIDS. A statement made on behalf of the player said 'I wish the club the best of luck in the future, and I feel very sorry that I am unable to be a part of it' before joking that 'I would like to clarify at this point that I won't be considering a move to North Antarctica, because I know they have a tendency to pounce!'

Mercury rivals pull out of Kazenaghi race
Mercury City and Cook Island have withdrawn their bids for Napian international Ishmael Kazenaghi after it emerged that a Cr 9 million bid had been made for the player. The news will come as a blow to Mercury City, who may be in need of a replacement striker if the speculated transfer of Joe Foxon to Tow Law materialises.

May Wanderers 'losing interest' in Carrasco
May Wanderers have said today that they are losing interest in making a deal with Olympique Crecionnais to sign Alexandrian international Alexis Carrasco. The club had reportedly been planning a Cr 8 million bid for the player, which was increased to Cr 12 million after it emerged that a number of Napian clubs were competing. The club have more recently been linked with Mercury and Mercury City striker Joe Foxon, who is currently away on World Cup duty. It appears to be a two horse race between the Wanderers and Tow Law, after the forward said in an interview that he 'would love the chance to play in the Champions' League again'. Some reports suggest that the club are still planning to make a record breaking bid, estimated to be around Cr 10 million, but Mercury City will be reluctant to sell after just one season back in the top flight.

Mercury City accept undisclosed bid for Joe Foxon
An undisclosed bid from Tow Law, believed to be over Cr 10 million, has been accepted by Mercury City for World Cup striker Joe Foxon. The news will come as a huge blow to May Wanderers, who have lost out on Alexis Carrasco and now Foxon in this window, and now the club may be forced to pull out of talks with North Antarctican clubs about Matt Fitzgerald, as they have been unable to find a replacement in time for the new season.
