Sacking Delinquents
I made my claim for Universalis almost a month ago. It has been waiting on Vilhelm in the council for that entire time (save for Spangle's brief indecision).
a.) He's pretty much inactive, save for a presence in Antica
b.) He delinquency is delaying the claims process of the entire MCS
Council members should have more accountability. People as a whole - not just myself - are relying on the MCS to provide a service. Staff may not get paid for it, but that's a sacrifice we make when we agree to serve the community.
Now, I like Vilhelm very much as a person and micronationalist, but we should have some sort of accountability procedures in place for people who neglect their duties. He should either be sacked and replaced by someone with a greater presence, or through some other method held accountable for his inaction.

Hi. I obviously disagree.
The main reason, Ryan, for the delay in your claim's passage is the fact that Universalis has no evidence of substantial activity. There are 5 council voters. I am one. I do, however, believe your experience as a micronationalist, and as a founder of micronations, will lead to great things in the future for Universalis- and consequently the vote is passed.
I do apologise profusely for the absence, as everyone knows real life work takes precedence and this is rather a dry spot of activity across the Sector. That said, I take the criticism and the kick up the arse and pledge to return to my usual standard of activity on the MCS.

That experience would let you to know that this delay was nowhere near as long as some claims going through the Council in the pastColonel Vilhelm wrote:your experience as a micronationalist, and as a founder of micronations,

And this was 24. Of course that's slow for what we usually achieve but maybe we shouldn't've set ourselves such a rapid precedent for claimsdr-spangle wrote:72 days is the record.

That's just downright shameful.dr-spangle wrote:72 days is the record.
What, are you trying to get on par with the LoSS? Don't get me started.Craitman wrote:And this was 24. Of course that's slow for what we usually achieve but maybe we shouldn't've set ourselves such a rapid precedent for claims
At any rate, Vilhelm has accepted what I hope is construed as constructive criticism. Nuff' said.

Yeah. I was around and active the whole time, but I didn't realize council members all had to vote, and no one saw fit to inform me

It must be said that I'm feeling this too about the voting for the WikiWeek claim.
Of course I'd like to go ahead with the WikiWeek project as I think it'd be immensely beneficial to MicrasWiki and the community as a whole, but time is ticking away and the closer it gets to the start of the Uni term the busier I'm going to be, so time really is of the essence if this is going to go forward.
Can't the admin council just say 'accepted'?

Maybe we will. Perhaps we're just toying with you and we'll only accept it just before you have a mental breakdownMaximos wrote:Can't the admin council just say 'accepted'?
