FMF WORLD CUP 2007 - OFFICIAL THREAD
Sorry for the no previews today but here are the results:
Cräiteland 2-3 Taesong
http://www.vsocial.com/video/?d=100000 (HISTORY MARK- BECOMES 100,000TH UPLOAD ON VSOCIAL)
Taesong took the lead after Lee Dong-Yong rounded Jon Anders Larsen to put it in the back of the net which was followed by a Demhivo own goal which was then followed shortly by Seol Tae-Ki putting it in the back of the net. Cräiteland almost came back after a Tereminus goal and a spectacular overhead kick from Freddie Gaärsen but time just ran out.
Tokidoki 2-1 Jamzinia
The co-hosts finally got their first game and with a home capacity, the fans were screaming. However they didn't have a good start as Laurent Zandine showed he wasn't going to wait for everyone to settle down after a 30 yard shot in the back of the net within the first three minutes.
Greg Glenning almost followed it up with a curling free kick just outside the box but was pushed away to the post by Turk ronAjain. Ian Villa had another chance to extend their lead after breaking the Tokidoki defence but Turk ronAjain showed he wasn't a pushover.
The first half ended with 12 shots to none with 7 shots on target and one going in. However the second half was all different as the Jamzinians started to tire. Ichigo Trask almost scored as his shot from 10 yards hit the crossbar but it was Jon Zyxveldtsen who scored from the edge of the area.
Jamzinia tried to resurrect their lead by bringing on James Johnson and Abraham Longford but their chances were limited. But 14 minutes from time, Erin Jowasaki made his chance count after dribbling round Laurent Zandine and Gaz Wilkinson before slotting the ball past goalkeeper Williams.
Jamzinia almost made a late equaliser after a 88th minute free kick was crossed into Ian Villa who went a split second too early and the goal was called offside, and finally in stoppage time Lucas Yballa almost got lucky as Turk ronAjain tips his curling shot over the bar to give away a corner which almost went to Ian Villa but Turk ronAjain quick alert goalkeeping managed to punch it away as the final whistle blows. However it seems Ian Villa came to volley the ball but instead gets the side of Turk ronAjain who came off the pitch in some pain however after the match he told the press conference, "Nothing seems broken but I will go see the Medical Staff tomorrow but I think I will be fine and hope to play for the remainder of the tournament."

Passas v Matbaa Preview
So both level on points with Passas leading goal advantage, what will happen today? Well, alot of crisis has been happening in Matbaa and while the World Cup has been going on, Aprem Neil has signed for Cherry Trees FC after declaring that he will not be returning to Matbaa in the crisis.
Quryaqos Kheldumeh has cancelled his flight and decided to go straight to Riponia while retiring captain Philoxenos Mayara will announce his international retirement after this tournament and will fly straight back to Passas, coincidentally the opposition team.
Mayara has a key role to tell his team about the Passasians after playing against them in the RNSL, while Passas have been reviewing the games. Judging by the unsettling crisis in the home country, Passas have the slight advantage over Matbaa.
Expected Team Line-ups
Passas (4-1-2-1-2): East, Racckam, King, Hurtado, Bonny, Van Heart, Custis, Nirimorf, Verkslamp (capt.), Sherman, Dabrowski
Matbaa (4-4-2): Izmou, Ahudummeh, Et Izo Malkeh, A. Neil, Ben Sargis, Zaferan, Barthkyomo, V. Neil, Ez Kheduh, Mayara (capt.), Kheldumeh

Gaia 2-1 Novatainia
http://www.vsocial.com/video/?d=100744
Guillermo Trescrara brings back Gaian hopes of triumph as he scores 2 while Othello scores 1 but couldn't do it enough to bring back on level terms.
Passas 3-0 Matbaa
Lukasz Dabrowski found himself on the scoresheet after a few quick dummies past the two Neil brothers before flicking it above Izmou to go one ahead. Phillip Sherman then rocketed a 20 yard shot into the top right corner and while this was happening, Et Izo Malkeh and Mayara were both having an argument which ended up into a rather appauling fight when both of the players were sent off for violent conduct.
Lukasz Dabrowski then went on to take a nice pass from captain Nick Verslamp before dribbling it from the left channel to place it yet again in the back of the net.

Alexandria 5-3 Hurmu
This 8-goal thriller ended with the favourites for the win coming out on top, after going behind very early on.
Hurmu began with a bang, with youngster Aki Mäenpää adding two more to his tally for the tournament within the first five minutes. The first cam from a long shot from the edge of the area after a loose Alexandrian pass went straight to him. The second was a tap in at the far post from a Hjular corner which the Alexandrian defence couldn't deal with.
Alexandria replied after half an hour after Jean-Pierre D'Oliviera's chip through over the Hurmu defence was slotted past the kepper by Louis DuBond. Hurmu showed they weren't lacking by getting their third on the stroke of half-time when Kristján Viðarsson headed the ball in.
Alexandria left it late on before they started their comeback, when on 72 minutes, Sébastien Focán curled a low free-kick around the Hurmu wall and in from 25 yards. Only three minutes later, Louis DuBond got his second of the afternoon, and Alexandria's third, after latching onto a Fábio González pass.
With the score at 3-a-piece, and time ticking, both teams started attacking to get the much-needed goal they would need to put the game beyond doubt. Alexandria won a corner just before the 90 minutes were up, and a salmon-like leap from right-back David Belle was finished with a bullet header into the top corner of the net, from a González corner. Hurmu still didn't believe they were beaten when in the last of the 2 added minutes, they forced a corner. Unfortunately for them, Jean-Pierre D'Oliviera headed the corner out long to Fábio González who raced down the pitch from the centre-circle to finish the move with a delightful lob over the out-coming Loresen. The soon-to-be rivals in Cräiteland's League 1, with González at Cherry Trees and D'Oliviera at Osĵätoņ Aztecs, linked up beautifully to give Alexandria three points in their penultimate group game in this tournament.
New-Empire 2-1 Beaugium
New-Empire sprung a shock with this win over the current champions. Beaugium looked to have the game in their own hands when Stevenson scored after 24 minutes.
New-Empire fought back against the almost-constant Beaugian onslaughts, and managed to even score after a good move seeing the whole team touch the ball at least once in a 16-pass move ending with a Jamizzo finish after 60 minutes. Another quarter of an hour after, New-Empire got the winner when substitute winger, Sergio Gonzáles-RodrÃÂguez took it past Robertson and Peterson then knocked it in off the post past Frederickson.

Group B After 2 games:
1 = Alexandria = 4PT = +2 GD
2 = New-Empire = 3PTS = +0 GD
3 = Hurmu = 3PTS = -1 GD
4 = Beaugium = 1PT = -1 GD
Outlook:
Alexandria need 1pt to qualify. If they lose they need a winning margin of less than 3 (i.e 2 or less) goals in the Hurmu - Beagium Game
New-Empire need a win to go through. They can do through on a Draw so long as Hurmu/Beagium is also a draw.
Hurmu will go through on a win or, on the condition that Alexandria win their match, a draw.
Beagium need a win and an Alexandrian win to go through, although, Should Beagium win by 2 or more goals, an Alexandria/New Empire draw will suffice.

New Brittania 3-3 Kataria
Although the scoreline may suggest it, this match wasn't the most special you'd ever see. Each time New Brittania took the lead, some good Katarian play lead to an equaliser.
The first goal came from Thomas Malt with 10 minutes remaining in the first half. Daniel Perry beat Yorihato Takegi, and then put in a low cross which Malt touched in at the near post with the outside of his left boot. Five minutes later, Kataria won a free kick on the edge of the area after Frank Young mis-timed his tackle on Shinji Ito. Young received a yellow card, and Hidetoshi Nakamura found the bottom-left corner with his shot.
After half-time, New Brittania scored their second. Which was closely followed by Kataria's. Again, Daniel Perry's run and cross found Thomas Malt. This time the striker backheeled it to Jack Royale, whose shot wasjust too powerful for Narazaki to stop from going in. Almost straight from the restart on 67 minutes, Kataria pulled one back. Tori Yamamudo, pin-pointed his pass through to Ito, who lobbed the keeper with his header.
New Brittania looked annoyed about Kataria bringing the game back onto level terms after each time they scored. And this showed when Frank Young got his second yellow of the match for pushing Ito to reach a high ball. Young was sent off, so New Brittania's coach replaced James Price with the more attack-minded Carlos Slavene. Slavene showed that New Brittania should maybe have played him from the start when he converted a Perry corner on 82 minutes to bring New Brittania ahead with time running out. Again Kataria surprised everyone when they scored the last of the game with only 4 minutes remaining. Another clumsy tackle, this time by Jim Smith on Junichi Nakamura, lead to Hidetoshi Nakamura punishing them with an accurate free-kick. The AFC Heartpool winger curled another around the New Brittanic wall but this time into the top-right corner.

Riponia 2-2 Leon & Venezia
http://www.vsocial.com/video/?d=101625
Theo Sinclair gave Riponia the lead only to be cancelled out by a shot from Juninho Santos from a narrow angle before Daniel Taleva met a cross to put 10 men Leon & Venezia up after Gilberto Ferreira was sent off. Right on the last minute, Lewis Prescott drew back on level terms to ensure Riponia have maintained their Group C lead.

Novatainia 2-1 Matbaa
The joint-hosts found the form they had been confident about previous to the tournament a little bit too late for any impact.
Peter Morrowind and Iago Othello were Novatainia's stars in this game, whereas the Matbaic players weren't as impressive.
Novatainia starte off the scoring when Othello rolled the ball past Izmou into the bottom-right corner after running on to a Morrowind through ball at the end of the first half. Peter Morrowind doubled Novatainia's tally half-way through the second period, with a postage stamp freekick from the edge of the area.
Matbaa got a late consolation six minutes from time when brothers Vaja and Aprem Neil linked up. Vaja Neil's corner was punched weakly by 'keeper Yola, and Aprem Neil reacted quickly to header the ball back over the flailing goalie.
After both teams efforts, neither could get past the group stages, and the match ended in a weird silence before both sets of fans applauded their boys.

Cräiteland 2-0 Jamzinia
Both teams started the tournament in a negative manner and Cräiteland would not want to dwell on their narrow defeat to Taesong. And it didn't look so good for them at the start as Ian Villa broke free and almost scored from a 1 on 1 with Vorgensen however he lifted the ball over the bar. 3 minutes later Cräiteland were caught in possession as the ball was taken by Laurent Zandine who fired a long range shot which was parried away by goalkeeper Jack Vorgensen. With 2 shots denied looking like certain goals, a bad tackle from Jon Anders Larsen gave Glenning a chance to take the lead from a 25 yard free kick, however the ball hit the post and out.
The second half was not much of an improvement with a double save from Vorgensen as Zandine tried another audacious shot and left Ian Villa to put in a simple tap in where Vorgensen made a unbelievable recovery to catch the ball.
However 20 minutes from the end saw Freddie Gaärsen finally running through the middle before lobbing the goalkeeper. Cräiteland were finally 1 up. And the second followed within minutes after a cross from deep by Jon Anders Larsen looping into Tereminus who was brought down by 2 Jamzinian defenders, the ref was going to call for a penalty but the ball bobbled down to Gaärsen to smash home a second.
So it looks like Cräiteland are back in the game following Taesong's defeat, as they lie 2nd on goal difference. Jamzinia will need to win their next match by at least 5 goals, and its against Taesong.
