16th August Matches:
Hurmu 2-0 Beaugium
Hurmu have shocked everyone by beating New-Empire and putting up a close fight against Alexandria and it looks like the surprise package of this years tournament have shown too much for the current world champions.
Phil Phillipson almost scored after a diving header in front of goal from a corner was saved onto the crossbar by club team-mate and Hurmu goalkeeper Miklu Loresen. The ball bounced back to Alanson who tried to lay off Beaugium's skipper Steve Stevenson but Loresen saw the ball go wide.
A Nervous first 20 minutes for Hurmu who are looking to shock micras by going all out to qualify for the quarter-finals, things weren't looking good when Ari Illola brought down Eddie Edwardson just outside the box, however the referee given a penalty. As usual, Stevenson stepped up and shot for the bottom left corner, however the Ripon Rovers keeper Loresen dived and grabbed it.
But just before the first half after a breakdown of communication between Alanson and Edwardson gave the possesion to Hurmu where Tuomas Hjular picked up a very loose pass who hoofed the ball up to Kristján Vidarsson who converted the ball into the back of the net. Hurmu one up before the break.
And it proved to be a good day for Hurmu as on the 70th minute, Kristján Vidarsson broke free after a corner at the opposite end who played Aki Mäenpää who picked up the through ball before sliding it home.
When the whistle blew, Beaugium in much frustration, unable to explain their loss while Hurmu screaming and shouting in joy.
Alexandria 5-0 New-Empire
Alexandria comfortably sail through after thrashing New-Empire 5 goals to nothing. The Alexandrians kicked off straight away in a attacking mood and it was Khalid Mohamed who put the Blues up on the 2nd minute after crossing the ball to Alonzo misplacing it into the back of the net.
However Enrique Alonzo got his goal 8 minutes later after a goalkick was booted upfield towards Louis DuBond who headed it down for the Franchescia Athletic striker to break and find acres of space before shooting 18 yard from goal into the top corner.
New-Empire tried to respond with a Glyn Wranws header from a Djalma cross, however the referee blew his whistle for offside. Not happy with the decision Wranws brought down Reynald Le Louvière as the game restarted and was booked for unsporting behaviour.
After the break New-Empire almost pegged back this time with Greg Iupita running from the left flank but went for glory instead of passing and failed miserably as the ball sailed high and wide.
With too many players pushed forward and only 2 players back in defence, Alexandre Von Heil took the goalkick very quickly, playing it long towards Louis DuBond who was brought down, it didn't look good but the referee showed no booking. A free-kick from 25 yards was scored by JP D'Oliviera however DuBond was taken off injured and replaced by Florent Lassana Traoré, it looks like Louis's tournament's over.
Sebastien Focán made it 4 at the midway point of the half after a long range attempt hit the crossbar and fortunately bounced in before rounding it up with Francesc Xavier Alonso looping long ball to Traoré, unexpected by the keeper it bounced above him and Traoré went round him to tap it in for 5.
Good game, Alexandria and Hurmu through. However a shock result for Beaugium finishing bottom of the table.
End of Group B:
1st = Alexandria = 7PTS = +7 GD
2nd = Hurmu = 6PTS = +1 GD
3rd = New-Empire = 3PTS = -5 GD
4th = Beaugium = 1PT = -3 GD

Leon & Venezia 1-0 New-Brittania
Leon & Venezia have drawn both their matches so far while New Brittania have lost 1 and drawn 1. Despite the result yesterday being 1-0, Leon & Venezia still are not through with the outcome of Kataria v Riponia to be settled later today.
With Gilberto Ferreira banned for 2 matches, Joao Ricardo took his place and the makeshift didn't look too well as both Ricardo and Mascaroni were not gelling to work with each other. However they proved the morning critics wrong when Ricardo passed a square ball to Mascaroni to fire from 30 yards out and scored, a reattempt from his shot against Riponia which hit the post.
But New Brittania are now out. Leon & Venezia will be biting their nails watching tonights match anxiously, when the final group matches will be played. TUNE IN THEN.
Cya later.

1) Tokidoki is playing Cräiteland tomorrow or today? They either play on my birthday or the day before. I will be present in full royal armor (including a helmet with a huge orange plume) to watch the game and give moral support..
2) Ouch, I think Cräiteland needs to beat us to go through or hope Jamzinia wins...against Taesong...

MIssion impossible
Well this is shaping up to be the match of the round. The winner of Tokidoki and Cräiteland match will be secured a spot in the next round, while the loser has to wait for the Taesong match results. We have also been told that the Red and Black army, the official support group of Novatainia, will be lining the streets to, according to their group leader, "Scare the living S%$# out of Taesong." We have also been told that the Red and Black army will be supporting Tokidoki in their upcoming match. Will it help lift the Tokidoki team spirits? or will it just doom them to failure? find out later....

anyways:
Cräiteland 1-0 Tokidoki
Taesong need to win by 2 or more goals to advance through the group stages following this result, Tokidoki however finish top of the group and will face the underdogs Hurmu.
Tokidoki had the upper hand most of the game and came close in the first half after a cross from byline on the left wing by Ichigo Trask but Tom Kenstein sliced it high and wide and never looked like scoring.
A chance came 20 minutes later just before the first half when Zyxveldtsen used Dehbo to play the ball out for a corner. Ichigo Trask came up to take it and Erin Jowasaki got up to head it home only to be cleared off the line by Paulio Demhivo.
The second half was brighter for the Cräitish, starting off the better side. Freddie Gaärsen almost put himself on the scoresheet after dribbling from the centre circle and letting off a howler just outside the area, however it hit the upright and gave Senovichi a chance to tap it in but Turk ronAjain showed safe hands by saving the effort.
However the Tokidoki dream of the 3 wins in a row ends as a last minute goal from a Craitish corner by frontman Cherry Trees veteran Tereminus gave Cräiteland 3 points.
Now they wait anxiously whether they will go through or not.
Kataria 1-2 Riponia
A late comeback from Riponia sends them through as top of the group.
Junichi Nakamura was fouled and had to be replaced by Yoshi Hamira due to a painful injury. Nakamura curled the free kick in from the right to be met by a Shunseke Inamoto volley. Kataria took the lead just before the first half.
They carried on the pressure with a long range attempt from the goalscorer which was parried away for a corner, however Nakamura's delivery was punched away by John Smith.
However the pressure stopped when Riponia changed in tactics taking Tristán Lennon off for the experienced Frank Smith who changed the tactics to a 4-3-3.
With 4 minutes Mackingtosh ran down the right wing to deliver a cross, without any trouble Frank Smith heads it in the back of the net. Another goal came a minute later crossed from the left by Donovan however Smith fouled Yorihato Takegi and the goal was disallowed.
But in stoppage time after Sho Ito missed a shot and Yamamudo missing the rebound, John Smith took his goal kick quickly so Frank Smith nodded it down to open Theo Sinclair who did a flick past Iriyato and skinning Takegi before sending the keeper the wrong way to send Riponia through to the knockouts.
End of Group C
1 = Riponia -- 7PTS -- +3 GD
2 = Leon & Venezia -- 5PTS -- +2 GD
3 = Kataria -- 2PTS -- -1 GD
4 = New Brittania -- 1PT -- -3 GD

It's basically what used to happen at the Caxton Hotel whenever the NSW bus passed on its way to State of Origin. The Queensland fans pelted beer cans at the bus, and sometimes began to rock it from side to side. Of course, since the bus drivers where Queenslanders, they would slow down. Most experienced Origin players picked up seats on the left side of the bus to avoid the beer cans hitting the windows. It really messed with them.Hieu wrote:@ Craitman: Abit of a security issue here?

All transfers are suspended until the end of the world cup. Also, the NFL doesn't have managers (lack of support). tbh, I've been looking for someone else to simulate the matches...*hint, hint*Hieu wrote:btw Lachie - Port Rackham Rangers are putting in a bid for Zig Cee, Cr12 million (6 million supras).
