Re: Coprieta Standard updates
After months of this rolling on, I ceased to care for this dispute any more. I've tried to get compromise, force the point as clearly as possible that the new system was not to replace the old, but that just falls on deaf ears. I think after all the arguing and effort, its pretty clear that we shoul...

Re: Reforming the SCUE
I broadly agree. The short term Hammish model is to set up an alternate currency, but we are suffering a few problems with activity in the meantime. I hope people will engage with your post.

Re: Reforming the SCUE
Fair enough, sounds interesting. I'm keen on hearing what other states have in line. A lot of people are keen on abandoning the SCUE, but alternatives seem few and far between. I can confirm, as Benkern foresaw in Shireroth, that there is a country toying with PHPBank  And I thought so. But I ...

Re: Reforming the SCUE
I'm only snippy because of your crybaby post. Can we avoid this sort of comment? This thread is to gauge where different nations are regarding their views on economics so that we have an idea of how to move forward. Oh good, so you didn't actually bother checking. If you had, you'd see that the pri...

Re: Reforming the SCUE
Ah, the micronational economy problem, rehashed for the umpteenth time. What SCUE lacks, that in essence all micronational economies lack, is necessity. You don't need to use the system to get by or even to make transactions, so you sidestep it. I'm beginning to believe that this problem is unsolva...

Re: Reforming the SCUE
I appreciate Gotzborg's position on the matter, as their objections were very clear. The problem with the SCUE, I would argue, is political. Control over supply and so on is al fine and well if you delegate it, but when the system needs changed or there are some interests which win over others then ...

Re: Vyktory Free Press Special
Sometimes people need to be told to man the fuck up, and that's what I am doing right now. http://www.nhs.uk/conditions/depression/Pages/Introduction.aspx Some people still think that depression is trivial and not a genuine health condition. They're wrong. Depression is a real illness with r...

Re: Vyktory Free Press Special
I think I speak for more people than myself when I say that if there is one thing I don't want to see become common-place, it's not people wanting support from the community, but people showing a complete lack of understanding towards others. So yes, here is the crucial difference between depression...

Re: Vyktory Free Press Special
I'd like to say that it was a very brave thing to open up about, and you clearly wanted to share something with the community. I think this is certainly micronation related as we are a community of individuals as well as a group of fictional states. I'm personally glad you have found a way through t...

Re: Reforming the SCUE
I'm happy to try and keep this discussion rolling on and get more attention, but I'm more than happy to sort something bi-laterally if we can. Well the most basic problem we have is getting a means of exchange sorted and somewhere to do it. I am keen on on-board money, which would be exchangeable be...

Reforming the SCUE
I would like to open a thread about reforming the SCUE. As much as I agree with its founding principles, it appears to have been struggling. In Hamland, I've had to resort to pressing for another currency so that we can carry out transactions. The state of micronational economics can be seen as noth...

Re: Hamland Modification
It was founded as its own entity, but as Hamland has so many sub-regions it was amalgamated with Schoenland (the Germanic nation to the East). It was meant to take some inspiration from the Jokerdom, which owned the other island, but ended up just a part of Schoenland as I was working on the more so...

Re: Ergonia Disbanded
As someone who guided my own country through a hard time some time back, I can assure you that disbanding your country might not be the right approach. I post this in general to spark discussion, don't feel it is me telling you what to do. If you want to see your country grow, the best move would be...
