Re: Pure Nafticon
Hah! Now Jack is trying to get a deal with St-Anna ("granting them his blessing") in which he gets the isles and they the land. Needless to say something like that would be as illegal as he claiming the isles. 8) If you had read the conversation better, you would have seen that I proposed a unifica...

Not meant in a bad way, some people in this community may very well refer to me in the same terms.Benkern wrote:"I think that the MCS has become a bit of an autistic bunch", Jack? A badly thought-through phrase in this of all hobbies...
I just wanted to give Erasmus a cheesy quote.

Re: [BAT] removal discussion
for the record, I did not say that i am still a batavian citizen. I was only pointing out something. and let it be clear that it would only be great if Batavia would be online again because I am sure that arrangements can be made. the problem is that i can't reach Gustaaf. also, I only care about th...

Re: [BAT] removal discussion
Well, if the opinion of the MCS is that it is better that an inactive nation holds a small island and that way prevents that a new and active nation can develop that area, then I will have to rest my case.

Re: [BAT] removal discussion
Orion pointed out to me that my resignation of Batavia was not recognized by anyone in Batavia. So one could argue that my resignation was technically not confirmed.

Re: [BAT] removal discussion
What we of course could do it, after the Brettish Isles exist for 3 months, the MCS accepts the brettish claim on the islands regardless of what Batavia does. I don't necessarily need Batavia to be removed, but it would be just silly to let a dead (or near dead) nation keep control of the islands wh...

Re: [BAT] removal discussion
I wholeheartly agree with Orion here. The current location of the Brettish Isles is not picked random. And it is not that the Batavians have done a lot with the islands. In fact, the only people who have ever written something about the islands are Orion and me, I think that this gives us some claim...

Re: [BAT] removal discussion
The reason I want the claim as quick as possible is not that I want to see us on the map for vanity reasons or something, but the fact that we might very well engage in some military strubblings in the near future. And of course, that could be a little problematic with us not being on the map.

Re: [BAT] removal discussion
True of course, in hinsight, the events were rather clumsy and I realize that it would all have been easier if I was still a citizen of Batavia. The problem however is that Batavia is blocking the opportunity for the Brettish Isles to get the territory we want, and I don't think that this is a good ...

Re: [BAT] removal discussion
If there is so much green why not claim some of it instead of trying to kick more ancient nations from the map? To me, as someone who has been involved in Batavia a lot, the Brettish Isles are just a new nation trying to take Batavia's territory, not a seccession because most citizens weren't invol...

Re: [BAT] removal discussion
I think that the MCS should take a good look at the rules. We see that the green areas on Micras are getting larger and larger, and I think it is not a good thing that an active nation like the Brettish Isles has to wait so long before admission.

Re: [BAT] removal discussion
The problem is that I am technically not a Batavian citizen anymore, and even though everyone knows that I was very clearly present in the nation for quite some time and developped Nova Batavia, I think that technically there might be a difficulty there.

Re: [BAT] removal discussion
Isn't this a flaw in the rules then? The nation is clearly inactive but we are unable to remove it.
Or the MCS could just recognize the independence of the Brettish Isles...

After removal of Batavia, Nova Batavia will continue independently and change it's name to Brettish Isles.

Re: [BAT] removal discussion
1. I've moved this thread as the "Claims" boards are for claims only, not asking questions. fine 2. Going by my ForumList data, which the MCS uses to gauge activity and necessary removals, Batavia ('s-Koningenwaarde) still received a post in October. I'm not sure where you got December 5th from, as...
