Re: Class project on micronations! Neat, huh?
It's focus was the micronational hobby in general illustrated by Ashkenatza specifically. If I had had more time, I could have done a more in-depth detail, but unfortunately, circumstances being what they were, I was even more pressed for time so reading it it does sound a little rushed. But, it is ...

Re: Class project on micronations! Neat, huh?
Update: The project was a complete success, though I learned the hard lesson during my pre-presentation meeting with my professor that, when describing this hobby to someone in an academic setting, it is a prerequisite that you divorce all knowledge of Balkanization and Balkan nationalism from their...

Re: Bless 'im
Even though this is a month late...... I really enjoyed the part where Scott roundly defeated his ENTIRE ARGUMENT and his response was: "See? You can't prove it. You childish goons. I'm so much awesomer than you! Ga-douche!" I also liked the other people's parallel conversation happening in complete...

Re: Tumbleweed
I love that the First Law of Micronations states: "Activity in any given micronation is directly proportional to the amount of work and obligations at one's school or university." The only exception is exams where activity levels plummet as we who have procrastinated to an unhealthy degree in our st...

Re: Currency Design request
I will see about whipping something up for you. I won't have access to my regular workstation until this upcoming Wednesday, so I should have some samples for you next weekend.

Re: YAMO
One or two dedicated members regularly pop over to the wikis, etc. and make themselves known. They (so far as I can tell and so far as it affects me) do a fairly decent job at representing Micras. Even with a formal YAMO structure, there will be those that aren't YAMO ambassadors that make their way...

Ah. Well, then the Fogle in question was, indeed, the one I was referencing originally.
Jared Fogle is the subway spokesperson who supposedly lost ten billion pounds by eating nothing but subway. Fat chance.

Re: Sealand
Its Sealand....of course they had scams! I don't trust anyone in a suit jacket and blue jeans. Not even the Fogle?! If you are referring to the Subway Fogle, then absolutely not. As a former fat kid who got skinny by WORKING OUT and eating a balanced diet, I'm opposed to fat people who lard over si...

Re: Secessionists are Lulzy
I buy roadside lemonade because I believe in the Republican Party's ethos about the little man making it in the big time. Not some other poorly-devised ideology about kids having fun. Actually, come to think of it, I think the Republican Party's big business interests (*cough*wal-mart*cough*) put th...

Re: Secessionists are Lulzy
I wonder if I still have my petition that I had floating around to announce Ohio's secession from the Union to form a socialist utopia....I got quite a few signatures believe it or not. I'm not sure which one is scarier--a 15 year old kid running around trying to form a new country or the fact that ...

Class project on micronations! Neat, huh?
Ok, so I have a class project where I'm exploring micronationalism as an underground, unofficial cultural group case study. For reasons of membership, activity, and cross-border interaction, I am focusing my attention on Ashkenatza and the Bastion Union. HOWEVER, the overall purpose of the project f...
