Micronational Hockey League
After many months of the overwhelmingly successful Giess Basketball Association I am here to proudly announce to the [micronational] world, the creation of the Micronational Hockey League!
The Ice Hockey league is open to both Giessians and Micrans, and once all of the interested parties have signed up there will be an autodraft. The league is located here and all that is required is to open a yahoo! account, which is a very painless and quick process.
Thank you and I hope to see you all there!

That's stupid how every single non-American always claim that Americans don't understand things. We don't understand soccer, we don't understand hockey. You gonna tell us that we need to learn how to take a proper shit too? People always talk about how arrogant Americans are, but then it's the English telling us how not proper our entire lifestyle is. Honest to God, I've never been able to stand being around anyone English for very long because they're all so goddamn smug. Obviously y'all are cool, cause I can choose not to talk to you ever again if I want.
P.S.I'd totally be down for a hockey league. Behind soccer, hockey kicks ass.

We weren't at all discussing that you didn't understand things. You're getting too defensive there, it's just that Ice hockey is dominant in your part of the world, so you don't focus on the other places hockey is played so it's just known as 'Hockey' because the ice variant draws the most interest. Here we can only really hope for a couple of weeks at most of snow and ice at any given year, so we play it on fields. It's a climate dependant sport, which is why it's very popular in Russia and the Nordic nations, it's not so fun having to drive miles and miles to an artificial ice rink somewhere when we've got lush green fields outside. That's stupid how every single non-American always claim that Americans don't understand things.
That's one hell of a sweeping statement, which is dare I say.......arrogant?We don't understand soccer, we don't understand hockey. You gonna tell us that we need to learn how to take a proper shit too? I think if you've met 61 odd million people and made that assumption, then fair enough but I'm pretty sure you're basing your broad opinion on a handful of people you've met. Wait a tick you said English so:
61-5-3-1.7= so only 51.3 Million people to meet.
I meet some real twats whenever I go over to the US, but I wouldn't have the stupidity to pin the character of a nation's people to a couple of rotten apples, you should do the same when you meet people of other nations and cultures, because to describe a group of people as having undesirable characteristics is pretty racist.
Again read the posts, no one said 'Americans don't understand sport'
If you're paying attention, I'm trying to organise a league of a sport very popular in America, you should be happy I'm nurturing such a thing whilst the rest of the MCS are playing a game popular in the other parts of the world.
Feel free, it's going to be great and I'm looking forward to it, but please drop that attitude, it kills.P.S.I'd totally be down for a hockey league. Behind soccer, hockey kicks ass.
@ Oroigawa, i see what's happened there but yeah to reiterate it's meant to be an intermicronational competition, so nation against nation, not clubs against clubs. I don't know how else to prop up interest (like i say, against the large shadow of the footy) but it's an interesting sport which has been played for centuries in many parts of the world, and just to reassure the people who know not a lot about the NHL, i manage to win the basketball last year and i know pretty much nothing about the NBA

I'm quite surprised at what Matthew's said. I was expecting to see a mildly-insulting-to-Americans comment, but there was none
And being one of those 51 million (granted, that's just the population of England, not necessarily the number of English people), I can fairly say that I've never called the entirity of the American people arrogant, nor have I ever told them our lifestyle's better than theirs...
But maybe Matthew proves a point
Anyway, back t' conversation, I'll see how interest goes before jumping in

Yeah, that's what mine turned into, and then died worse than before...Iolo ap Siôn wrote:@ Oroigawa, i see what's happened there but yeah to reiterate it's meant to be an intermicronational competition, so nation against nation, not clubs against clubs.
I'll see what I can do about getting Shireroth and Toketi into this, but we probably wouldn't have leagues, since I have yet to get the football leagues going in either of those nations yet like I've planned for a long time...
