So Mar Sara has to defeat the host country in the Elimination final to get the right to face the undisputed champions of 'A' Conference, Gerenia. So close now! Whatever the result, the metal for their medals is being mined and melted, the moulds they are to be cast in are being crafted. :D

An important victory. Incidentally, what is the procedure for Mar Sara becoming a full member in the MHL?

Well, first of all, the MHL has two sections to get involved in: National teams and Club teams.

The National team one needs the approval of the MHL staff (which at the moment is just me) to gain entry, or to have a team in the Club section.

The club section is an international league with the leading clubs of each nation. Nations may run a seperate league themselves (like Gerenia), or have a franchise to decide the team that competes for them.

The Mar Saran players have overcome so many obstacles - even defeating another team from within the sphere of influence of the Shirerithian Empire. They will be similarly awarded in due course!

The Otaq Buz Pisti was full to capacity for the first ever MHL World Championships final, between Gerenia, who were one of the pre-tournament faverouites, and Mar Sara, who had suprised many by coming through the B Championship and defeating nations such as Senya and Birgeshir. The teams skated onto the ice alongside Senyan ref James Revrond, and his assistans (Alex Presley of Senya and Ósja Ki I-Iváksson of the River Warriors). The national anthems were sung at full volume.

The face off started us off for the first period, and Gerenia immediatly took action, having a number of attempts on goal in the first minute, but none beating Saran goaltender Tel'Huub. The Sarans were being overtly physical, and Gerenia had their first power-play within 6 minutes, but their best chance of this play was smashed against the post by Iördan Sliraie. The opening goal came 11 minutes in, when Padarne Devadar's long pass was flicked in by Vladimir Kessel to give Gerenia a 1-0 lead. Mar Sara were starting to be outplayed, and were lucky to come in a just 1-0 down at the first period buzzer. The second period was better from Mar Sara, but they couldn't find anything immediatly, and Gerenia took a 2-0 advantage when Kessel once again flicked home a Devadar pass. Mar Sara found a way back though just before the end of the period though, when Mik Shala knocked his way through two Gerenian players before smashing the puck into the goal. However, the Gerenian class showed in the final period, with Kessel rounding off a hat-trick before Mark Hogan smashed his team into a 4-1 lead. Mar Sara showed spirit, but could not get back, and Gerenia ran out comfertable winners, sealing their maiden championships title.
Spoiler!
GERENIA 4-1 MAR SARA (1-0, 1-1, 2-0)
11' Vladimir Kessel (assist: Padarne Devadar)
27' Vladimir Kessel (assist: Padarne Davadar)

39' Mik Shala (assist: Burt Shala)
43' Vladimir Kessel (assist: Mark Hogan)
51' Mark Hogan (assist: Padarne Davadar)
