Intent to Resign
Excellencies,
Having had the privilege to have served this organization for three full earth years and four months, and mindful of the challenges and shortcomings of this organization, I have come to the realization that it is time for a change.
I am aware that the role of being an impartial presiding officer limits my ability to further effect the necessary changes for this organization to play a greater and more important role in international affairs. A quick perusal of votes will show that we have done little except to admit members and do little else.
In this regard, following the lead of my predecessor in office, I declare in open session my intent to lay down this office which member-nations have graciously bestowed upon me, invite member-nations to nominate a worthy successor, and that I am indifferent as to whether I, as a final duty, or the Deputy Secretary-General shall preside over the election of my successor.
Your obedient servant,
JAJPdA.

Mr. Secretary-General,
The Garden of Kalgachia commends you for your long service to the cause of global peace and understanding.
For what it may be worth, not all of the blame for this organisation's inertia can be laid at the door of your office - in recent years there has been a steady but decisive decline in the role of Micran states as sovereign agents in themselves, toward that of mere conduits for supranational power blocs whose interactions are by definition too nebulous and transient for the MTO to effectively officiate. Whether this demands a reform of the organisation's remit in realignment with the present global circumstances, or its final disbandment as an irreperably moribund entity, is the first question which should be addressed after your departure.
Lest this observation be erroneously interpreted as a pitch of some kind, there will be no candidate for your successor put forth from this quarter.

As George Blakeslee, Foreign Minister of Caputia
Mr. Secretary General,
The Kingdom of the Union of Caputia thanks you for your long and devoted service to the Micras Treaty Organization.
The organization surely needs reform and we hope that we can count on you to be part of the discussions and resolutions to implement changes that will make the MTO better. Caputia believes this organization is the best hope for an effective intermicronational medium of diplomacy.
As such, Caputia wishes to announce that they will present as a candidate former Prime Minister Christophe Landry to succeed Primo de Aguilar as Secretary-General.
The goal of Mr. Landry's service would be to help reform the MTO through general consensus, update the secondary agreements and treaties that help enhance the MTO, and integrate the organization to the an intermicronational organization that has had a proven record of success: the Micronational Cartography Organization. By working with them, we could perhaps make slight changes to the claim applications to ask new claimants in Micras if they are interested in joining the MTO. If they say yes, then the request triggers an admission vote in the MTO, provided that the new nation has ratified the relevant MTO agreements and treaties.
Simple goals for simple implementation. Caputia believe these ideals are worthy to strive for in order to make the MTO stronger and more relevant. After all, the MTO should seek to provide its members with some benefits of membership to ensure its continued survival and relevance.
We hope that our fellow delegates in this Assembly will support this candidacy.
