The State of Talenore is neutral on the issue.

Re: [Roundtable] MTO money
Not sure appointing another position is the best way to go, maybe finance/treasury could be the responsibilities of the Deputy Secretary-General?

Re: [Roundtable] MTO money
Gotzborg would suggest that a portion of the funds be used to develop an official logo for the MTO (the old Bastion Union forum used the logo of the Small Commonwealth, which is no longer appropriate we can all agree).

Re: [Roundtable] MTO money
Flanders still needs some time to think about it, but it would like to point out that the money does not necessarily have to be allocated now. It can also be kept until the time comes when it is needed - better that than to spend it frivolously.

If the membership were to permit this money to be lent for development purposes, what rate of interest would be acceptable?

At first sight, I'm inclined to say: as low as possible. After all, the MTO isn't a commercial bank.

Re: [Roundtable] MTO money
I would agree that it needs to be as low as possible if this money were to be used in an "aid" fashion. There is an inherent risk in lending money (especially to an economy that is at-risk of insolvency) however, so I'd suggest that we not put the entire amount up for such a purpose.
Re: [Roundtable] MTO money
This is my preference. 400 scue isn't that much, but it is enough for a new logo and some graphics. If we spend it on polishing and refreshing the MTO's image I think it will be a better investment in reinvigorating the MTO than lending it out.... 400 isn't that much to lend anyway.Liam Sinclair wrote:Gotzborg would suggest that a portion of the funds be used to develop an official logo for the MTO (the old Bastion Union forum used the logo of the Small Commonwealth, which is no longer appropriate we can all agree).
An altered version of the original Small Commonwealth logo with MTO/MVO lettering was proposed but never caught on (never got uploaded to Bastion). But it can be used in the interim.

How about something like this?
Lord Erion, MNN, Chancellor of the Bovic Empire of the Natopian Nation.

Re: [Roundtable] MTO money
I personally prefer something along the lines of what Iain has proposed. A modification of the old logo is inappropriate, as the tree symbolizes Shireroth as the centre in my view.

A "micronation" that had no political effect on the community whatsoever during its existence doesn't really serve as a rebuttal argument.Jonas Windsor wrote:But Iains proposal has Istavinstan in the centre...

Re: [Roundtable] MTO money
Well, to be fair, there would have been more of Shireroth on the map if it hadn't been so careless as to lose half of its lands, but it has occupied Istvanistan for a little while now.
But, in any case, the glorious Natopian empire is centered top and bottom, which naturally pleases the Butter Cow.

Re: [Roundtable] MTO money
I guess you could avoid the problem of having one or the other nation at the center of such a map by using abstract symbols (e.g. stars, although that's perhaps too much of a cliche) to represent Micras' continents, or something to that effect.
