[Point of order] Unanimity
Mr Secretary General, sir! Why is it that you have ruled that unanimity is required for opinions to be passed? Surely, simple majority should suffice to express a non-binding opinion of the MTO?

Re: [Point of order] Unanimity
If it represents the opinion of the MTO (and in some way its member states), wouldn't unanimity be desired? The tyranny of the majority hardly seems like a good way to handle international affairs. I'm not sure I want to let Batavia remain member in an organisation which represents values which contradict those of my nation or some fellow member states (which hasn't happened yet).

Unanimity is required by the General Membership Treaty.
10b. An MTO Opinion resolution will only become an official MTO Opinion upon a unanimous vote in favor of said resolution.
