The First Year

Salary Caps

In the first year, all teams are assumed to have a salary cap of $13m. (Ingame dollars are not based on any real or MNal currency and are not exchangeable at the Small Commonwealth Bank.)

The Inaugural Draft

In the inaugural draft, players will be randomly generated and each team will be given enough picks to make a full 57-player team. These players will all be automatically signed to a 3-year, $200k per annum contract with no option.

Scheduling

Depends on the number of inaugural teams. If less than 16, each team will play each other team once. If between 17 and 32, two conferences, each scheduling in the 16-or-less manner. If 32 or more, NFL-esque scheduling.

Draft Info

Drafts in years 2 and onward will be conducted similarly to the NFL draft, with each team getting one pick per each of eight rounds; the position of this pick within the round is determined by the previous year's record. Draft picks may be traded; however, no more than two picks may be traded at any one time. If a team lose more picks than they gain via trading, they will be awarded compensatory picks to make up for those lost by trading.

Drafted players will be sent to training camp, and the owner and head coach will have 3 months to decide whether to sign any of these players, as well as to re-sign any established players whose contracts have expired.

Surprisingly, that might be because we've had more important things to attend to. Like I said, I'll apply when I've created all the information - when I have time to do so...

Just a reminder that team entry for the inaugural season ends in about a month.

Look, I don't normally tell people this because I don't like them, but I'll let you in on a secret here: you're probably not going to get enough teams for your first season by hoping other people join up. You might have to run most of them youself. In fact, you might have to run nearly all, or maybe even actually all, of them yourself. People tend to get interested in these types of projects and hop on later after it's already established. Yeah, that means awkwardly playing games against yourself for a while.

I was already planning for that.
