Hamland took on neighbouring territory Taeland in the opening game of Group B, with Hamland as clear favourites. It was no surprise when Edward Stark opened the scoring. Henry Teadoir doubled Hamland's lead, and Nathan Bosch made it 16-0. Bosch got his second shortly before half time, with Daniel Imhoff adding the extras. In the second half Hamland continued where they left off, with George Wood and Henry Teadoir adding further tries. Nathan Bosch's hat trick made it 40-0, before Taeland's late consolation from Mik Davorsen

38' - Bosch

Re: 2013 Rugby League World Cup finals
Last year's finalists Mercury began their campaign against Zandarijn at the John F. Alden Memorial Dome. Mercury were unable to get into full swing immediately, and it took 16 minutes for them to get off the mark, after Ludo der Zandt's error gave them possession on the Zandarijn 20, Steve Evans went in under the posts. Zandarijn levelled the scores through Maarten Peeters shortly after, before two tries in quick succession gave Mercury an 18-6 half time lead. The deficit was cut to 8 points when Tom Haemmel crossed in the second half, but three more tries and a penalty goal from Mercury rounded off a 38-10 win.
Mercury 38-10 Zandarijn

16' - Evans
23' - Peeters
31' - Washington
34' - Ware
49 ' - Haemmel

Are those Elo ratings? If so, what's the K-value? and are you absolutely sure those are right?

Re: 2013 Rugby League World Cup finals
As far as I'm aware, the rankings we use within the FMS are inspired more by FIFA's than any others, just with a better distribution of points

At the minute, the points are based on a fixed value, with bonus points depending on which stage of a competition you reach, similar to the real life rugby league rankings.

Re: 2013 Rugby League World Cup finals
Craitland took the lead in the second round of Group A after the first round of fixtures consisted entirely of draws. Having defeated Safiria 80-6 in 2012, Craitland were hoping for a similar result this time around, but the host nation had vastly improved since last year, and took the lead with a penalty goal after Jon Pellegrino's high tackle, but the favourites managed to break the Safirian defence just 5 minutes later, Cqin Zyxveldtsen touching down to make it 6-2. Craitland increased their advantage further just short of the half-hour mark, before Safiria pulled one back seconds before half time. A third Craitish try restored the 8-point advantage early in the second half, with Will Mortensen remembering his kicking boots to add the conversion. The match looked to be won when Yaqin Ula claimed his second try, and Will Mortensen added one of his own in quick succession. A consolation from Juan Gomez made the final score 30-14.
Safiria 14-30 Craitland
Tries:
14' - Zyxveldtsen
28' - Ula
40' - Davis
46' - K. Fredriksen
62' - Ula
65' - Mortensen
74' - Gomez
Goals:
Smith 3/3
Mortensen 5/5

Much better than a draw! Didn't expect a repeat of last year's score anyway

Re: 2013 Rugby League World Cup finals
North Antarctica and Birgeshir both wanted to secure their first win in this group, but it was Birgeshir's relative inexperience that cost them. The match was very even throughout the first half, Fehim Öňan cancelled out West Connely's early score. Joseph Rodriguez's try and Ryan Rodriguez's conversion and penalty goal opened up and 8-point gap, but Birgeshir cut the deficit to 4 points. They almost had a chance to take the lead, but Töros Koç was denied by the video referee because Zihni Senojk was judged to have obstructed Climax Wilson. A handling error from Levænt Bürçojk gave North Antarctica the first score of the second half, and as Dürsün Ertunçojk's kick-off sailed out on the full, North Antarctica were gifted a penalty on the halfway line, which they took full advantage of, with Peter Milios grabbing a try. Azzis Meklebburg looked to have put the game out of sight after the hour mark, with the Napians increasing their lead to 18 points, but Birgeshir rallied and managed to pull one back with 12 minutes to go thanks to Düňa Nadir. North Antarctica secured the points with a Peter Milios drop goal 4 minutes from the end.
Birgeshir 16-29 North Antarctica

62' - Meklebburg
68' - Nadir
