Right, let's start again ...
Ok, I'll copy over what St Fenix started of what Shireoth started ... lets see if we can finish it this time ...
Here is my revised version of the Atos system, Still under construction by the way. I felt that instead of immedietly finishing it I would allow this part to undergo criticism and see what people think of it.
Expect the other half to come within the next few days.
and now for the information:
the New Atos system would follow this order (with approval of course.):
1. Eos (Dawn)
2. Micras
3. Pyros (Fire)
3.1. Cyclops
4. Indigo
4.1. Plateau
4.2. Ivory
5. Chrysos (Gold)
5.1. Fenrir
5.2. Lukedu
5.3. Asteroid Belt
6. Thalassa (Ocean)
7. Nephele (Cloud)
8. Glinos (Maple)
9. Noctis (Night)
10. Opisthe (Hindmost)
I will go farther into detail on what I have added at the end of my description of the system:
1. Eos
Venus like in quality. A straight telescope appearance show show that it would be tan in colour with dark bands from wind storms. Of course, beneath the clouds is a super heated surface due to the greenhouse effect. Volcanoes are a dominating part of the landscape and the surface is readily active. The largest eruptions upsetting the upper layer of clouds to create strange swirls upon it.
2. Micras
No editting needed, the MCS does a good job on this as it is.
2.1. Tarsica
Ditto as Micras.
3. Pyros
Mars like in appearance. Once possessing an atmosphere which many theorise leaked out into space from some distant unknown cause. It still possess a very thin atmosphere. It still possess polar ice caps that do melt to a point. The distances in our system makes Pyros extremely cold, even with an atmosphere, and what little atmosphere it contains is usually forzen into its poles in its furthest distance from Atos.
3.1. Cyclops
Pyros only has a single moon, It is composed of a rather dark rock, suggesting that like Micras it could of been created from Pyros itself in a far younger time. Cyclops, which although covered in many minor craters, is dominated by a singular giant crater, Suggesting that a massive object must have collided with it in eons past. Like Tarsica, Cyclops always faces inward rotating at a speed allowing it to do so at Pyros, beacause of this Pyros's sky is dominated by the giant eye of its moon, forever looking over its red barren landscape.
4. Indigo
Indigo is probably the only other easily habitable Planet in the Atos system, The main reasons for this being a very thick atmosphere only slightly higher than Micras's. In addition to this, it keeps far more heat in from Atos, allowing it, unlike its neighbor Pyros to remain somewhat temperate. Its temperatures in Comparison to Micras's however are still colder, and only near the equator does the climate become more inviting, being remniscent of The American Northeast Coast, with plenty of Rain, And huge forests of very tall trees. Indigo has a modest ocean in comparison to Micras, but has far fewer deserts, thanks mainly to its smaller size. The Pecularity of Indigo is that it along with Chrysos are part of a dual orbit, in which both Indigo and Chrysos Share. Both however are always on near opposite sides of Atos at all times of the year and only thanks to eclipses of the sun from Indigo's two moons: Plateau and Ivory, that Chrysos can be seen, and even in such a case it looks as Mercury and Venus do in the Early Morning on earth, being only a small star near the rising Atos.
4.1. Plateau
Plateau is the smaller of the two moons around Indigo, Plateau is one of the closest moons to any of its parent planets in the Atos system, Although originally thought to be a danger the planet, with some sort of Apocolyptic collision in the future, Plateau has actually been slowly getting farther from Indigo. This has been studied to be a sort of orbit dance that it plays with its far more steady sattelite, Ivory. Plateau is a very planet pock marked moon, with several dominating craters, but no real phenomenon next to its dance of interest about it. The dance itself affects its parent body: Indigo in many ways, the most obvious being its affect on Indigo's tides.
4.2. Ivory
Ivory is probably one of the plainest moons in the Atos system, however it is just this trait that makes it by far one of the most interesting. Instead of being covered in small craters from its formation, and various other markings from its system, it is almost completely smooth. Apperantly some sort of Regenerative property is retained by its surface, but it is unknown as to what causes the effect, and ensures that no new craters form upon its glossy surface. In fact it is probably has the highest surface albedo of all known Celestial objects in the Atos system. the only things preventing the moon from being a milky round ball in the sky, being a number of darker areas, that band somewhat haphazardly around the planet, leaving splotches of a darker nature. From the Surface of Indigo these bands serve to dim the moon somewhat, and Ivory remains one of the most pleasing moons to the eyes in all of the Atos system.
5. Chrysos
The first of several gas giants in the Atos system. Chrysos, is perhaps one of the most interesting celestial objects in the Atos system. Chrysos is the second largest Gas giant in the Atos System after Thalassa, Being an odd purplish tinted Gas Giant. Chrysos is part of a dual orbit with Indigo. Chrysos is a Giant plagued by storms, Being the closest to Atos of all the giants, it is affected most by its gravity, and that of its farther partner: Thalassa The Largest planet in the system. Its winds have been estimated to easily dwarf the most ferocious storm on Micras, and are often twice as large as the Micras itself. These storms also give Chrysos its most interesting charachteristic, being the only other planet in the Atos system next to Micras to produce lightning. It is also sorrounded by a small bluish Ring, thanks mainly to its massive gravity collecting material over the vast eons, the Ring itself is only visible under the most optimum conditions however. Although long thought to be a cream colored giant, the view from Micras has been found to be distorted from its original colors, and Chrysos instead of being creme colored, is actually greyish purple. Chrysos has two major moons, Fenrir, and Lukedu.
5.1. Fenrir
Fenrir is a rather large moon in comparison to others in the Atos system, being the second largest after Styx. Fenrir is a smooth moon, covered in what is thought to be ice. Although being somewhat close to Atos, Proving that it may not be water covering Fenrir. what is known however is that the moon itself is criss-crossed with hundreds of lines, most being eithe red or tan in color. The Exact nature of these lines however have yet to be determined, and have been considered to be optical illusions played on the viewer from so far away.
5.2. Lukedu
A Smaller cream colored moon in comparison to many others, it is host to a very cold and inhospitable atmosphere, where Dust storms are commonplace, however craters are relatively few. The Regenerative properties of its surface have long been thought to be the result of a kind of snow that falls from its upper atmosphere and melts onto its surface, erasing any marking with enough time, through erosian, and then returning to the Atmosphere in a cycle of sorts.
5.3 Asteroid belt
Although technically not part of Chrysos, The Asteroid belt is present in-between Chrysos and Thallasa. The Asteroid belt is one of the larger features of the Atos system, it is filled with many asteroids of all sizes, showing that it is merely the leftovers of the Creation of the Atos system. If taken together all of the material there could make another 10 Micras's easily. which leaves one of the greater mysteries of the Atos system, why did'nt parts of the belt form into planets? there is alot of material and gravity is in no short supply. There are several notable Asteroids among them being either famous for its size or for its shape: (suggestions?)
And a map, not sure quite where it fits in ...
