It just looked perfect to me ...
The stars, that is, my drawing doesn't do it justice at all ...

Yes, I did worry slightly ... star wise, it's perfect as a tongue, but I couldn't draw it well ... if someone would like to redraw it in a safe tongue way, that would be wonderful ...
EDIT: Redrew it (teeth on the mouth really help, I think ) changed a couple names and added a couple more. Still looking for a place to put Chelk, The Great Bear, but otherwise I think that's about enough constellations for up there ...
Oh, and if someone artistic would like to redraw The Dragon, they're welcome. I have no talent.
(note - for the three people who viewed the old one ... I updated the link in the original post)

btw did i mention that because it's a rectangular map and the stars are roughly evenly spaced on a circle map or in real life you would see an area of more concentrated stars at the north and south pole... we can probably use this to work out what type of galaxy we're in.
also note that some of those "stars" might be galaxies, on earth you can see 4 galaxies with the naked eye (two in north hemisphere and two in southern hemisphere) so roughly the same would be seen on micras in theory... in fact less would be because the milky way is abnormal in that another galaxy is crashing into it and a few tiny galaxies orbit it.
oh yeah and in theory half the stars are binary systems, a good slice will be trinary systems and a few will be quadnary systems but i doubt more than 2 would be quintary systems. Not that you would see any of that from Micras.

No Nebula clouds or red giants though ...
Or any of the Micran planets showing on there either ...

Some are greyer or whiter though ... isn't that brightness, or is it distance?

And do you know which type of galaxy we're in yet?

I really like the star chart. It likes overlays over the world map, which gives an idea what the night sky is like over Geneva or such. Some of the Constellations are really cool. Others are down right silly. Is anyone thinking about an organization to name them?
We might not be able to visit them, but with a space based telescope, satellites and other detection equipment, we can slowly start to map them out. They recently discovered a planet that has a high probilility of containing water. The staffers would just have to design....<EVIL GLARES> Okay! I am shutting up. ;D
Still, I think we ought to sit down and work together in mapping out home system too. I think we should also work on building the necessary infrastructure. If we are going to go to the moon and stay there, I think we need the appropriate orbiting stations. Getting to space is a slow and dangerous journey. I think we should take the time and do it right so we help in crafting something beautiful.
