Other planets
Do we have any info on the other planets/moons in the Atos system, because it seems to be only Micras and Tarsica which has anything on MicrasWiki? If there isn't anything, is it open to discussion?

The list is stickied right at the top of this forum...

Re: Other planets
I was thinking of things like orbital period, surface gravity etc. Also, the list only has the first five planets.
Re: Other planets
Thalassa (Ocean) - Methane gas giant. Blue in appearance and much like Terran Neptune in that early astronomers mistook it for a water-rich world.
Nephele (Cloud) - Hydrogen gas giant much like Terran Jupiter in appearance.
Glinos (Maple) - One of the other habitable worlds of the Atos system, originally discovered by Mingapulcan scientists and named Momiji (maple) for the large maple-leaf-shaped continent that dominates the western hemisphere. Although probes have been sent, the distance to the planet makes colonization not presently feasible.
Noctis (Night) - A frozen world much like Pluto, although slightly warmer. This suggests that the planet may have active oceans beneath the frozen surface.
Opisthe (Hindmost) - A small frozen world of ice and rock, too distant to the edge of the solar system to support any life.
^ The above is based on previous conclusions made back when the system was being mapped out. None of the finer data (like gravity) was ever figured out.

Re: Other planets
So we know nothing of mass, radius, gravity, orbital radius, other bits of stuff
Re: Other planets
It may have been plotted out by Bill or Spangle - both had been working on it at some point or another - but I don't know where that info ended up.

Re: Other planets
Not many of us know where THEY have ended up If nobody's officially decided anything, then we can open a discussion on it
Re: Other planets
Fine by me. It'd be nice to finally flesh out some of the finer details; and maybe get them added to the website... *pokes Craitman*

Re: Other planets
Actually, we have two sometimes incompatible descriptions:
viewtopic.php?f=11&t=493 - copied by Spangle, mentioned above
and
viewtopic.php?f=11&t=342 - copied by Andreas, made by St Fenix and others
The first thing I see that doesn't match is Indigo being presented as either cold uninhabitable world or an ideal place for future colonisation. Also description of Glinos in the text Spangle copied is unrealistic, as an earth-like planet wouldn't have features needed to sustain life at that position in the system.
Could we have another forum for standardisation of Atos System? In my opinion the threads about planets, moons and the star can be separated from things like gravity, radius or equator length of Micras.

Re: Other planets
It doesn't explicitly say that Indigo is too cold in that description, it just says that Chrysos would have to be close enough to provide sufficient heat. Although if they're on opposite sides of an identicl orbital path, then it wouldn't be anywhere near close enough.pawelabrams wrote:The first thing I see that doesn't match is Indigo being presented as either cold uninhabitable world or an ideal place for future colonisation.
Re: Other planets
I would Love to start a space race getting to the outer planets mentioned earlier in the thread - with all the pitfalls, lost probes, disasters and heavily distorted 'first photos' from the surface of some of the terrestrial planets to boot
