MAS Committee
MAS Committee
I would like to suggest that, in order for the MAS to move forward as a decision-making body, that we form an administrative committee. This would be similar to the MCS council.
My suggestion for committee members are:
Myself
Pawel
Joe Foxon
Craitman (as representative of the MCS)
A four-member committee would be smaller than the MCS council and can achieve quorum with three people when voting. If this proposal is amenable, and nominated committee members accept the designation, then my next proposal would be to establish an MAS charter to function on a similar basis as the MCS charter. I do not envision committee seats being permanent, and therefore would allow a rotation of different people to sit on the board. Since the MCS is the parent body for the MCS, I imagine that the MCS council could, by vote, overrule any decisions made by this committee. However, this committee would handle moon base claims, regulations, data, and standardization of the various aspects pertaining to the MAS.

Re: MAS Committee
Would it be possible to have Pawel as the MCS representative within this? I know far too little about this kind of thing to contribute successfully, unlike Pawel, and I'd rather not take the place of someone who could be a lot more helpful!

Re: MAS Committee
I thought we agreed we didn't need a committee, although I'll accept the position
Re: MAS Committee
There seems to be a whole lot of "I don't know who makes that decision" going around whenever something comes up here. So I think a formal committee is the best plan of action to take. Furthermore, it will help to show a legitimate method of decision making being followed, and thereby avoid making any arbitrary decisions without a greater consensus.
That's fine by me, so long as Pawel wants that role. I'm certainly open to suggestions for other members who may be a good fit and beneficial to the MAS.Craitman wrote:Would it be possible to have Pawel as the MCS representative within this? Re: MAS Committee
Well, I think I can serve as a MCS representative as long as I can have my opinion voiced, too
I'm certainly not against everyone's ability to add something to discussion here, but yeah, a list of people responsible for the place would motivate us to work harder on standards. So that not only Tarsica missions would be possible

Re: MAS Committee
Of course you can voice your opinion! I envisioned the MCS rep being akin to a security council seat on the UN.
CJ's recent inquiry about Momiji gave me the idea for a committee. He may also be someone to consider as another committee member.

Re: MAS Committee
Why not? CJ is pretty active in the fields, although he might be a bit too eager to explore everything we know as soon as it is possible

Excellent! It is decided then; the MAS Committee shall consist of myself, Joe, Pawel and CJ.
Craitman, could you organize that as a moderator group for the MAS?
