In which case, I'd suggest that Association Football be the only simulated sport (for obvious reasons).
Chess is a possibility, a lot of people over on MW use Gameknott for chess tournaments.

Well, I'd like to have as many sports from that list as possible, and most of them haven't got any way to play them virtually. :\

Well, a good lot will inevitably have some sort of game to play online, it's just finding one that's decent. As I said though, there's no reason why we should have to use the same sports as the Olympics; pool and chess games abound, so it would make sense for those to be included, for example...CJ Miller wrote:Well, I'd like to have as many sports from that list as possible, and most of them haven't got any way to play them virtually. :\

Actually, you could do them.Craitman wrote:Well, a good lot will inevitably have some sort of game to play online, it's just finding one that's decent. For Example, if a load of people have something like Kinect Sports (irregardless of wether they have LIVE), record the footage of them doing Pentathlon (I mean the virtual stuff, I don't want to see you falling over in your living room). You post up the recording to these Forums (via DailyMotion, Vimeo or some other site). After a certain date, a judge looks at all the recordings and announces the winner.

But then that would mean people would have to have that equipment (the console/motion sensor/recorder/even TV!), which not everyone does. Running it via computers and the internet uses things which we know everyone has as we're an online community! If we're doing it, it should be available to everyone, not just a select few

Re: MicrOlympics
What about having a combination of simulated sports and online games? We should definitely simulate football, otherwise we could end up with some of the best teams in the world doing terribly with worse teams reaching the final.

Re: MicrOlympics
I'd personally suggest staying away from simulations entirely. If it means not having stuff like football, so be it, but it's better to have genuine competition than the same stuff yet again...
