Re: ICL/ALP merger 2.0
No objection before, and happy to accept this again. No more spread-out than Franco-Batavia and no less intertwined, story-wise. AYE...
Re: ICL/ALP merger 2.0
1) Whilst I do share some concerns about spread out nations, there's years of cultural and diplomatic ties between these nations which means that this isn't a case of just someone lumping two of their nations together
2) i think there is sufficient in sim realism to justify it, what with both nations being part of the Bassarid sphere of influence
3) Given the recent acceptance of Franco-Batavia, I think it's unfair that the council did not accept this claim before
4) There has been some good quality work surrounding the Bassarid Periphery that shouldn't go unnoticed
AYE

Re: ICL/ALP merger 2.0
Before I vote, I’d like to be pointed in the directions saying that the premises of this merger is different from the previously denied one.
Re: ICL/ALP merger 2.0
I would also like to see that (even though I can't vote (yet)), and reading the Wiki article, it still doesn't look like a merger, just putting several separate nations under the same flag.
Re: ICL/ALP merger 2.0
I'm still not getting this, I'm sorry.
"The Iron Cult of Leng is an independent nation governed by a High Priestess of the Stripping Path known as the Cereberi, whose powers and responsibilities are in principle similar to those of the Basileusa of Zartosht."
So independent but not? Maybe I'm picking at details, I just don't get what the "Bassarid Periphery" is supposed to be.

Re: ICL/ALP merger 2.0
The claim quotes the merger of ARC/BAT/FRC, which I didn't get chance to vote on, but in my eyes that is a completely different situation, due to the size and scope of the territories involved. This claim for me would be akin to Belgium merging with New Zealand.
Re: ICL/ALP merger 2.0
I want to give Bijaro the opportunity to argue that there is enough activity to warrant the merger. I therefore withold my vote for a while longer. I don't take any pleasure in voting against claims, and I want to give him the benefit of the doubt that I 've missed something here.

Re: ICL/ALP merger 2.0
Having spoken to Bijaro, I understand a bit more about why he wants to make this claim, and given his reasoning, I'm a bit more willing to reconsider my vote. Essentially it boils down to not feeling like he can do both projects justice if they remain separate entities, as any development he was able to do wouldn't be as focused as he'd like it to be. Both projects are clearly deserving of their current holdings, the stumbling block for me is whether the merger is worthwhile, can one nation be greater than the sum of its parts?
I withdraw my previous vote, however I'll give some other Council members a chance to weigh in before I re-cast it though.

Re: ICL/ALP merger 2.0
There is the issue of activity. At the same time, the territories are quite small. His explanation in the forum here is long and reasoned and qualitative.
I will give this an AYE, it is a weak aye for the record, just above the finishing line. But an aye nonetheless. I will not entertain any expansions whatsoever from this combined entity, unless activity goes up like quadruple of what it already has.
