Were those friends us, Babs, or do you have even more you were planning on? More is fine with me ...

Like most wars, because a couple people were bored. Then it escalates, and one side ends up huge ...

Tomsett had a receptive audience. Your audience will not be Micronational powers such as he had but Micronational minnows who probably won't want to side with a losing nation.Andreas the Wise wrote:Oh, we will. We have a lot less to lose than the other side. If we win - well, alone we're the most powerful nation on Micras. If we lose, we can always say we were defeated by quantity, not quality, and, considering the teams as they stand, the others can never truly deny it.dr-spangle wrote:Andreas, you are the ones claiming you're the new superpowers proove you're the new superpowers
And besides - if we start losing ... well, remember what glorious fun dear Tomsett had last war? Multiply that by at least three ...
EDIT: And whatever happens, this war will make big history. Either we're going to emerge victorious, or have a cool Gallipoli situation to work into our military history, so ... it's actually all looking good for Novatainia.

Oh, that doesn't matter. It's the fun of making our conquerors look like idiots in a humorous manner ...

Soro, Tomsett joined the war but pulled out of a treaty with Lovely. Adraisia was a little micronation - remember some of our first alliances - and had decided they'd got it wrong or something. Montague wasn't happy, so went, took their city before they'd even got an orbat up, and forced them to surrender.
Tomsett, a great Pratchett fan, then proceeded to make a nuisance of himself. He had fun running around on Montague's ship asking for a cup of tea and chat with his captor, and other amusing things like that. Eventually he got killed but sent us more amusing messages from heaven ...
Great chap.
