Grand Réveil
[Enter Captain Fouche, Lt. Vauban, and Col. Strauss]
The Galatian Defense Force had been mobilized recently by the Vice-Commander, Juergen de Cautzberg. His Imperial Majesty nor the Imperial Parliament of Alexandria had declared war. Yet the Imperial Armed Forces were being mobilized. Fleets leaving the Andrea Harbor in the Imperial City of Geneva, began to raise questions, are we at war? The official response had been, security alerts, but there was nothing yet.
The GDF was getting ready to set off. Mainly comprising of Galatians, Alexandrian citizens thought it was 'just a routinely exercise' but in the Dauphin's eyes, as the Commander of the GDF its was way more than just an exercise. The GDF had proven the Alexandrian Imperial Army that it could work independantly, but that was never the case. Driven by ambition and glory the GDF proudly serving the Emperor boarded to go abroad with the destination being classified.
Captain Fouche had always been involved with the Portelas, his Grand father Vinchenso Fouche and also his father, Gustave Fouche had been good friends with His Imperial Majesty, Emperor Edgard I of Alexandria. Captain Fouche had vowed to work and live for His Imperial Majesty, Emperor Edgard II as his grand father and father did before him. As a GDF Commando, Captain Fouche always served the Dauphin advising him on reforms to impliment to the GDF to further help develop it.
Lt. Vauban had a long history with the Dauphin. They had both served in the Jaris War together, Lt. Vauban being his Chief of Staff and had also served in the Imperial Armed Forces, he requested to be transfered to the Galatian Defense Force since his wife had recently gotten a promotion with her company in the oveseas territory of Galatia. He was quickly transfered to the GDF and after a year of service to the GDF, learning of the mobilization he requested to be included.
Colonel Strauss had devoted his entire adult life to serving in the Galatian Defense Force. Like his forefathers, he too pledged to serve in the GDF until discharged, death or old age. Whatever it was, he enjoyed serving in the GDF. He had coordinated with several key Alexandrian Military officials to conduct a Military exercise, and through that he had the pleasure of meeting the Minister of Defense, who also happened to be the Commander of the Galatian Defense Force and His Imperial Highness, the Dauphin heir to the throne of the Empire of the Alexandrians and the former ruler of Galatia. Colonel Strauss was one of few to bear the Galatian Military Grand Cross, the highest honor in the GDF and the Black Eagle Star the second highest honor in the GDF.
Glorious Morning, aint it? Captain Fouche declared.
Certainly is Captain, and i wouldnt miss it for the world! replied Lt. Vauban.
Come to think of it, it reminds me of when we had 2 incoming harpoons during the Jaris War added the Lieutenant.
Now that just ruins it, cant you think of something else what began as a good morning certainly turned around to a horrendous image in my head thank for that Captain. responded Captain Fouche.
Not really, it excites me more than anything. replied Lt. Vauban.
Dont be a girl and load up, go! added Lt. Vauban.
[Captain Fouche walks out (he salutes and bows to the dauphin), as he left, HIH The Dauphin accompanied by Lt. Strauss enter the room]
[bowing down] Your Imperial Highness, great to see you. stated Lt. Vauban.
It is certainly great to see that my staffers are moving along with the GDF. The Emperor and the Imperial Family are proud. replied the Dauphin.
Lt. Vauban, i'd like to introduce you to Col. Strauss a long standing member of the GDF acknowledged the Dauphin.
[Salute each other, then shake hands]
It is both and honor and pleasure to meet you, Colonel. confirmed the Lieutenant.
The honor and pleasure is all mine, Lieutenant. Likewise. replied the Colonel.
Gentlemen, i'd like to congratulate and thank you for serving the GDF, i expect that the both of you will make our great nation proud. stated the Dauphin.
As the Dauphin left the two individuals talking he received an important call from Geneva, which indicated to the Dauphin that there was an official response that was going to be declared shortly. He knew he had to be there for it. He informed his bodyguard and they signaled for his jet to be brought. He was out of there shortly after that.
Summary: GDF prepares to embark. Mostly backstory. Preparing to unleash hell pretty much .
