Of course I know that Jeremy, I've read Silmarillion twice ...
probably foolish, thought it might be less boring the second time but anyway ...
So to us cultured people, Jeremy, it says a high and long lived race who came to another land and were fairly quickly made it's Kings ...
Oh, and magic, though you never got involved with that ...
All in all, sounds like a superiority complex to me ...
And what's this about a type nation from MI? I'd always thought the closest similarity was NATO ...

Except the Numenorean homeland, as I recall, was destroyed in a scene reminiscent of Atlantis because they did something ... was it siding with Morgoth or becoming too arrogant ... (not joking, I think it was something like that ...)

Britain, dying, surely not?
I'm serious, I love Britain, they have all the best comedies and Doctor Who (even if most of it's filmed in Wales now)

Over 700,000 migrants in the last year now accounting for 10% of the population, and if they dont share the British humour (perhaps being far more interested in what ever they hell they do over in eastern europe) the supply will dry up. Thats if we dont become part of the "United States of Europe" first in which free speech is banned if its contary to the regime

Worrying ... Australia's a bit like that, but we keep trying to incorporate them into our culture ...
