[Speech] The lights are going out
Some slightly "Churchillian" wording here and then but i feel it came off well in the end.As I speak to you today we hover on the brink of an armed conflict upon which the fate of us all depends. The hopes of our country go forth to the field of battle with the men of our armed forces, and the course of liberty hangs breathless upon their fate and that of our great nation. Although the struggle may be long and perilous, neither the shock of battle nor the long hours of uncertainty shall wear us down. The prayers of the entire free world go with our armed forces as they plunge into the horrors of war, hoping that when the guns fall silent a new world may emerge from the smoke of battle. A world based upon the simple principles of freedom and happiness where we may pass the long years of our lives unselfishly basking in the wonder of god’s creation.
Although those whom we hold dear, husbands, sons, fathers and friends, go now into war we may only hope that their sacrifice may be validated and that that which is lain down so readily may be spared for us all. And even if, which I do not for a second believe, this country or a large part of it should fall foul to those who work for the end of our civilisation: then our united empire, alongside our friends and allies, shall carry on the struggle. And in god’s good time, all will be well.
All over Micras the lights are going out, plunging our world into darkness and despair, only through providence shall we see them relit. We go now into battle bearing with us the torch of truth and justice, may we set all Micras ablaze with its divine flame.

Thankyou Jeremy for that sterling speech for our troops. You summarised our position perfectly.

Believe it or not, Jeremy, that was not sarcasm. I know it's hard on the internet to tell, but I was perfectly serious.

True enough, Craitman my friend.
But I still know what annoys me.
Hey, do you remember when we first met? It was me terrorising Novatainia and I spammed your embassy while you were negotiating a treaty... Then you saved my arse in the trial.

You're right Soro, I shouldn't get caught up in their trash talking, we're better than that ...Sorongath wrote:Stop acting like kids, the both of you.
And Jeremy, don't bring peoples parents into this.
Andreas, don't taunt the wee one.
God I hate having to do that.

It was actually in my mind all the time I was away ... though considering the way this war is going I might still have to pull out our Propaganda department ...

As if. Just because we know how to take a hit for the team. We can at least say we took their ridiculous damages without complaint, something they can't attain to, except for Josephus and maybe Cairney so far...

Appart from the fact that you did infact turn an irrelivant topic into a trashtalking thread due to an inability to prevent the flow of verbal diarrhea that you call postsAndreas the Wise wrote:You're right Soro, I shouldn't get caught up in their trash talking, we're better than that ...Sorongath wrote:Stop acting like kids, the both of you.
