Hmm..
A thread to get some technical advice (regarding the internet and computers on the whole). I didn't want to ask spange, yet again, another question over Msn.. as I've asked too many this week
Just bought the new 'spore' game for my laptop.. but (shock horror) it wants to go on the internet to download some upgrade files before it'll let me play! My laptop doesn't have access to the internet (as we have broadband on the PC, not wireless) and we have the internet via an aol connection.
Now, I don't think the game HAS to be played online (at least, I hope not), but is it possible to plug in the AoL broadband cable into my laptop and log in as usual? I'd of thought it might have needed registering or something, but perhaps it might work.. laptop has AoL installed, so thats alright (its just not been used before, so unsure if its set up properly).
So.. yeah, if anyone knows whether I can do that, would be good to know I don't want to be plugging it in, finding out it doesn't work and then having it disfunction on my PC!
Or, if anyone else has got the game.. would be useful to know if it does have to be actually played online, or if (as the box suggestd) the online bit is only for updates and sharing your creatures. Hope not, or else I'm stuffed as this PC don't have a DVD drive lol
Thanks

I've seen spore, looks a great game, looks memory hungry too...
It does.. I'm hoping both Sims 2 and Spore will fit on the memory without making it run slow. Though, thats sims without any expansion packs, so it might just fit! Hopefully.. I've had to delete all the other games I had on the laptop to get them to both fit on in instillation. As long as they both run together without using too much shared memory and that on the hard drive, it should be fine.
jeremy.
Just adding to my list there.. aren't you Guido..
