No, I just won't say it ...

I wish.
They use such malformed ideas and practices that they could easily escape such a situation with a bare assertion fallacy... "Such and such is true because the bible says that such and such is true."
Well... Christianity doesn't work because I say it doesn't work... Why would my bare assertion fallacy not work while theirs would? because their's is written in a 2000 year old book that has been changed gradually over time to fit it's environment... whereas I am a member of a species that has changed gradually over the past few million years to suit my environment... oh wait...

I think you'll agree with me that the UK in 2008 is far from heavenHell is often defined as being away from god.
God is everywhere, he's omnipresent, therefore you cannot be away from him.
everyone is always in heaven.
The book of revelation pretty much sums it up as a location rather than a state of mind
You mean changed the beliefs of a third of the earth? You owned Christendom!

Unfortunately, that's not quite correct. Hell is not being away from god, because as you rightly state he is omnipresent. Hell is complete severance from god. That is, if one rejects entirely god and his love. Heaven is complete communion with god, and acceptance of his love. Very boring definitions, but Christianity is very mystical like that.dr-spangle wrote:Hell is often defined as being away from god.Jess wrote:You are going to hell.

So any atheist is actually in hell? not just heading towards it...
That explains all the homework... and Jess.
Probably. Just like atheists have these basic arguments, so do Christians - "Man can't understand how god works" and so on. I can't tell you the official line on that one.
However, I'd like to think that if you're around people who are in communion with god* - which is not always voluntary or done knowingly - some of it sort of seeps out onto you or something.
*Sorry about using this ridiculous term, I hate it myself, I mean being "Christ-like" or spiritual or something. I think it extends to just being a nice person, because I imagine god's nice, so being nice is like being god.

Ahh, we can only go to Hell if we believe in such a place, it's like how reality is shaped how we persieve it, and the rest of us persieve it not to exist.Jess wrote:You are going to hell.
However I urge you all to become Philantologists......
Oh yeah, Scott, you're not getting Lucky Number Slevin back....never.
