Sorry, that was poor

No it's just mine and Jeremy's role-play.

Re: I'm a PC...
Have you seen their site? you can submit a video for them to use in their advert...
I really want to make a video saying "I'm a PC, and I use linux"
I doubt they would show it though
They're just upset that they lost record amounts to linux after the release of vista so they feel they need a new image...
which is rather shitty really as if PC = Personal Computer then windows doesn't fit the categories at all...
after the processor and ram have been raped by it's heavy graphics it's hardly a computer
and after the billion spyware programs have built up on your computer and are stealing your credit card details off each other it's hardly personal

That's why they're a monopoly and keep getting sued by the EUCraitman wrote:Whilst surprisingly still holding a huge majority of the marketdr-spangle wrote:They're just upset that they lost record amounts to linux
but it doesn't change the fact that they lost record amounts of users to linux

Re: I'm a PC...
It's not a monopoly, even you proved that by saying you use Linux

Re: I'm a PC...
A monopoly is:
they raise the price update by update but people still don't use the free alternatives...
That defines it greatly...Control of commodity or service in a particular market which enables the one having control to raise the price substantially above that fixed by free competition.
they raise the price update by update but people still don't use the free alternatives...

Re: I'm a PC...
Not really...
They've had years and years of work from large corporations like Canonical (mostly graphical), Novell (A lot of bug fixes), Red hat (shit loads of everything) etc...
Also lots of outside work from Dell, ATI, Intel, AMD etc etc etc
The greatness of linux is that anyone can help
Another great thing: "The grid", the data distribution system capable of 30GB/s designed for the LHC but often predicted to be the next stage to the internet, is linux only. All other operating systems must connect through virtual machines running linux
Finally windows machines will know what it's nice to be alienated from networks...

Re: I'm a PC...
No...
Because they review edits before adding them into the kernel... and they're not automatically added to ALL kernels, most distros will check the kernel before using it.
and outside the kernel, you can edit your settings and stuff all you like, then show that to other people and if they like it they can edit theirs in a similar way...
Wikipedia is editable but very centralised, you fuck one wikipedia up and you've fucked the only wikipedia up
Linux is editable and decentralised, if you fuck one linux installation up, there's still millions left...

Re: I'm a PC...
But there is only 1 English Wikipedia main page...
and there is only 1 English Wikipedia article on {insert topic}
So, you fuck up one and you've fucked up the only one
