Subjects
I'm interested since you are all university people in what subjects you all do, work around or aspire to do. Unsurprisingly I study Politics and Sociology. Duke J is a Sociology man too.
It is a joke in itself that when looking for Sociology jokes online that I failed to find any... Goes to show what type of guy I am...

Re: Subjects
I'm in my first year of a 4 year G103 Mathematics course, it's a fast track course to an MMath Masters degree, where I will be a Master of Mathematics! Mwa ha ha ha ha...
I've been somewhat considering going on to do a PhD, so then I would actually be a dr and hence feel a lot less guilty about my pseudonym

Re: Subjects
I thought about it too. I'm doing an MA but not a REAL MA... Stange... I should really find out what degree I'm doing. Stupid Scottish system.
Re: Subjects
I've heard that getting a PhD over a MS actually severely limits the job pool, as it puts a much more theoretical and less practical spin on the knowledge, plus companies know they'd have to pay a PhD more.dr-spangle wrote:I've been somewhat considering going on to do a PhD, so then I would actually be a dr and hence feel a lot less guilty about my pseudonym

Re: Subjects
This is very much true. A MS allows much more career flexibility than a PhD.SaiKar wrote:I've heard that getting a PhD over a MS actually severely limits the job pool, as it puts a much more theoretical and less practical spin on the knowledge, plus companies know they'd have to pay a PhD more.dr-spangle wrote:I've been somewhat considering going on to do a PhD, so then I would actually be a dr and hence feel a lot less guilty about my pseudonym
As for myself... Environmental Science.

Ancient History @ Durham.
I find, however, that the deeper you get into these subjects, the more critical skills you need in your 'toolbox'. Therefore, I find myself delving into historiography, semiotics, philosophy, literary theory, anthropology, sociology, Archaeology and socio-linguistics as my 'bits on the side'.
DAT SUBJECT.
