My father, back before his life fell apart, kept a small monitor of some breed. He always said it was the only reptile that ever had a glimmer of intelligence and did anything but lay there.

I've kept frogs and tadpoles and blue bellies and such that I caught in the park when I was a kid, but they either died or my mother tossed them back into the yard before long. As an actual pet I had a Russian box tortoise named Speedy. There was a skunk in the back yard and Speedy would chase after him whenever I let him, albeit slowly. I doubt I was the best Herpetologist. I was young and did things like feed it dinner scraps.

Tsk tsk, not good!

Amongst my many reptiles I have 2 Bearded Dragons, and they watch the TV with me.

When I saw the title of this topic, I thought it was the study of herp-a-derp. :?

A friend of mine in California has a bearded dragon and it gets out sometimes. Its pastime seems to be getting to the couch, hiding behind the couch, waiting patiently for TV time then crawling on top of someone's head.

That's quite the menagerie you've got there. You must slaughter entire populations of crickets weekly.

The genocide. There are millipedes in Hawaii with a bite described to feel sort of like a gunshot wound and has a doctor's diagnosis of 'get drunk for a couple days, it works better than any pain killers I can prescribe.' Is that one of those?

All my pets of a not so reptile variety. A rabbit, a bird, a couple cats a daughter and a wife.

Oh no, their nibbles tickle! It's the tokay that's a moody bas****, I have to wear rubber gloves and his bites still hurt!

I have a rabbit too, my favourite of all pets. I can't say I'm in any hurry to buy a wife at the moment.

"Their niblles tickle" strikes me as an overwhelmingly awkward statement. It make me uncomfortable in a completely unreasonable manner.

Senna is the only animal pet in the house that's mine. The bird and the cats are my wife's. I like the bunny well enough, but she doesn't like to be picked up and I don't really care much to pick her up. We maintain a distant relationship that both of us prefer and enjoy.

That is certainly a vast collection of pets . Impressive! I don't own a reptile nor any other pet currently as I'm moving house quite frequently, but i'm more of a birds/mammals type normally.

Whatever happened to good old fashioned dogs? :P

That said, the millipedes are very cool. The fire salamander looks similar to our native spotted salamander.
