It brings me the greatest and most profound sadness to announce that Respected Marshal Kolya Radchenko has passed away. The office of the Prime Minister of the Ocian Federation announced the news this afternoon:
Kolya Radchenko ,Chairman of the Ocian People’s Party, Prime Minister of the Ocian Federation, Chief of Defence Staff of the Ocian Defence Forces, Marshal of the Ocian Federation, passed away at 11am on January 3, 2012 from natural causes.

The office of the President of the Ocian Federation, The Federal Assembly, and the Federal Executive Committee of the Ocian People’s Party released the notice on Friday January 6, 2012 informing members of Marshal Radchenko’s Party and the service persons of the Ocian Deference forces about his most tragic demise.

The President of the Ocian Federation as well as the people have been taken aback by this news which is a great devastation to the Micras Anti-facsist movement in which Marshal Radchenko was so instrumental. Micras is certainly at a loss since one of its most prodigious and beloved statesman is now gone after months spent away from Ocian public life.

One Week of memorial events will be held from January 6 until the 11th to remember the late Kolya Radchenko’s feats such as his efforts in the Defence of Ocia during the Great Patriotic War against fascism and the subsequent retribution he delivered to the invaders, his efforts which led to the reunification of Ocia in 2008 and his prolific works of information literature.

Foreign delegations representing other nations on Micras are invited to express their condolences to the Ocian people by signing the condolence book located at the Ministry of the Exterior on the Ocian forums.

Although he is no longer with us, Kolya Radchenko lives eternally in the hearts and mind of the Ocian People.

Is this for real real or has he simply found other interests and you're simulating it out in-character?

Simulating the death of characters you control is a pretty good and fun thing to do to change the game occasionally - you've done it extremely well with that chap in Babkha

I think that's a quite inappropriate comment given the circumstances. Accusations from people like you and the like saying that any person that contributes to Ocia such as Michael Dervin or Kolya are controlled by me or were created by me are rather old and repetitive- and have been proven false time and time again. In the later case, Kolya often sought a more hard line and confrontational approach which I often opposed, and on the contrary I often found myself having little influence over him when it came to decisions regarding those within Ocia and dealing with those from outside. I even informed him that some of the statements he made in Ocia were far too inflammatory even for my taste.

Regardless Kolya was an instrumental Ocian and I will miss working with him dearly. He valued his privacy very much when it came to dealing with his real life and his contributions in Ocia so I will respect that and will not give out any further info on his personal life and what actually happened over the past little while.

I will give Matt the benefit of the doubt in the name of diplomacy and express the condolences of The Union High Command to the whole of Ocia for their loss.

Oh, this is for real? I thought it was a parody of the whole Kim Jong-Il situation.

No need to take offence Matt - I didn't know he was a real person! In that case, my most sincere condolences.

Is he actually dead in real life? Regardless of his privacy.

Sadly in reality, yes he is no longer with us.

Thanks everyone for their sincere condolences. When It came to Ocia I know that Kolya thoroughly enjoyed the style he portrayed and despite some misunderstandings about his tone he did it for entertainment and sometimes as a joke, he felt that that everyone full-well knew this and he often joked around about this.

I will post a eulogy that will correspond in style to the Kolya everyone knew from Ocia and I will later post the "Reminiscences of Kolya Radchenko."
thanks again

Oh well I am sorry to hear that. Was it an expected sort of thing or untimely? Not nice news.

I've never seen the real actual death of a person announced in-character before...

I've seen one, sadly; a king of a small, young country in Polish Microworld died of leukemia two years ago...

Most sincere condolences, Mr. Kovac. I know he was a great Ocian, and probably one of biggest commanders of Micras - regardless of the occasional misunderstandings in battle threads... And, undoubtedly, he was the flywheel of Ocia. A great loss, indeed.
