Dear friends. I can't excuse me for every post that I write, so therefore I want to apologise all my postings _global_ for my bad english and hope you can bear it.
That applies to all postings from Prince Holonar and Chieftain Egaag - that's me both of them.
Is that okay?

Re: Language
That's fine, although some posters may have trouble understanding what you post in the future. Which nation are you from? And what is your native language?

Re: Language
Thank you.
My languages are norwegian and german (and a little school-english, but I'm very long out of school.....very long....)
I'm native from Norway, but I live in Austria and therefore I can also talk and write german.

Welcome to the forum, then. Glad we are building up a group of international visitors, not just Anglophones. Do you represent a micronation?

You can just add something like me to your signature - I'm sure no one will complain about that then.

No worries, you're more intelligible than a lot of the native speakers anyway

Oh thanks for the flattering remarks. Don't know if I've deserved that....Craitman wrote:No worries, you're more intelligible than a lot of the native speakers anyway
@pawelabrams: That's a good idea. I'll think about that.....
What about:
If you find a grammar fault, you may gladly retain it.

Re: Language
I would personally use this phrase:
"I'm not a native speaker. If you find a grammar mistake, please don't point it out publicly."
Or, more formally:
"I am not a native speaker. If you notice a grammar mistake, you are asked not to point it out in public."
Well, I'm not sure if "point it out" may be used in formal register, so I'd ask the native speakers out there to correct these

Or so:
I am not a native speaker. If you notice a grammar mistake, you may hang it on your Xmas-tree.

Re: Language
Well, I like this one, but have no idea of how the joke might be read by a native speaker

Re: Language
"Point it out" is probably fine, alternatives are "mention" or I suppose if you want to sound peculiarly formal, "indicate".pawelabrams wrote:Well, I'm not sure if "point it out" may be used in formal register, so I'd ask the native speakers out there to correct these
As for the humour- it would transcend language barriers

I think, I'll use this one:

(hope it's correct... )

Re: Language
And for Egaag this one:
I'm not a native speaker. Please do as if you can't see my grammar mistakes.
Hope that's ok. If anything is wrong with it, I'm glad if you correct me.
Thank you.

Re: Language
"Turn a blind eye" is good! However, for Egaag, I would propose the following amendment.
"I'm not a native speaker. Please act as if you can't see my grammar mistakes."
