Resignation
Well folks, school's revving up so I think it's best I take my leave from the council to make room for someone more available to the community. It's been an honor to work with you all (especially as a new Charter for the MCS is in the works) and I hope to return to the office some day if you'll have me. My parting words as a member of the council take the form of a request: that the junior member elected by the council over the coming days be new to the role and community at large. It's important that the old guard makes arrangements for this new wave of participants in our sector to be versed in the way things are done.

Re: Resignation
As a humble outsider who came in and nailed it, you're certainly great testament to this! It's been a pleasure having your input on everything MCS

Can you blame me?!
As a result of this, Malliki is now promoted to a full Council member position, and we require a new Junior. Applications shall open shortly, so keep your eyes peeled if interested!

Re: Resignation
Applications are now open for the MCS's new Junior Council member. They will remain open for the next week - closing on June 12th - and any interested individuals have the usual requirements to fulfil:
Applicants should, in no more than 500 words, summarise why they believe they are a suitable candidate for the Junior Council member position and specify any individual skills which could come in handy for any prospective future projects.
Good luck!

Re: Resignation
Greetings! I'd like to once again thank the community for reading the wall of text that will surely follow. I decided to sit the last round out due to real-world concerns, but this time I feel adequately equipped to step up to the plate.Applicants should, in no more than 500 words, summarise why they believe they are a suitable candidate for the Junior Council member position and specify any individual skills which could come in handy for any prospective future projects.
I am applying for the position of Junior Council member this time around because, as before, I believe I would fit in well with the team. This will give me a rare chance to interact meaningfully with the community outside my increasingly reclusive projects, and open up more windows of cooperation in the future.
While I'm not quite a newbie anymore in this community, I'd still like to toss my hat in anyway. I bring a few years of admin experience on the *cough* MicroWiki *cough* side of things, and I've learned to be impartial when making most decisions. I also know when to step out of the discussion when the topic is too close to me to render a fair judgement, and I pledge to continue this trend if I'm accepted onto the Council. In addition to helping manage that community, I have a few years of experience in the military, which has taught me lots of colorful language and... well, mostly that. I pledge to use my colorful language in support of this community, and hopefully make a positive impact as we move forward.
As I mentioned before, I have lots of writing experience, although I've not gotten the opportunity to do nearly as much in Micras as I've wanted to in recent months. In addition to many years of creative writing, I can bring an academic perspective to the table where needed. I have three degrees across widely different fields of study that I've earned during the short time I've been in this community (with #4 on the way in the coming two years), and these days they'd just gather dust if I didn't use them creatively. So, here I am.
In a community as comparatively excellent as Micras has to offer, serving as a Junior Council member would be a breath of fresh air compared to the experience of dealing with the day-to-day grind that MicroWiki offers. (Seriously, I'm waiting for a knight in shining armor to rescue me from my inexplicable and very unhealthy addiction to that place. HELP ME...)
Once again, thank you very much for both your consideration and support.
Best Regards,
Thomas Merrell

Sorry to see you go, Ryker. I hope you'll be available once in a while to jump on MicrasCast?Ryker wrote: ↑Fri Jun 05, 2020 3:28 pmWell folks, school's revving up so I think it's best I take my leave from the council to make room for someone more available to the community. Also, I was hoping to apply... but you know what? You are so dead on right about bringing in new blood. I also would like to see newer folks represented here.

Re: Resignation
I'm applying.
1. My track record is known. I have a clear philosophy of seeing the green go, I have shown to be unbiased and constructive in voting.
2. I'm not new, but I'm unhinged, so you never know my allignments.
3. I think I would be better suited than the other applicant.
I'm also decent with paint, nothing else though.

Re: Resignation
Are you sure you mean to say "unhinged"? That basically means crazy. Do you perhaps mean "unaligned"?

Re: Resignation
I was thinking, in this community, that doesn't make anyone a standout candidate

It was an (obvious?) attempt at humour

Re: Resignation
Withdrawal withdrawn. As non-micronationalist at the moment I think I could be a good and relatively neutral member of the MCS.
