New Junior applications
The MCS has accepted Jack's tendered resignation for the role of Junior Council member. While we regret the circumstances around this situation, we would still like to thank him for his time and input during his spells with the Council.
As a result, we are now opening applications for the vacated role; these will remain open for the next week - closing on August 27th - and any interested individuals have the usual requirements to fulfil:
Applicants should, in no more than 500 words, summarise why they believe they are a suitable candidate for the Junior Council member position and specify any individual skills which could come in handy for any prospective future projects.
Thank you in advance to those interested individuals, and good luck!

Re: New Junior applications
Greetings!
Thank you again for considering my candidacy. After thinking on it a few hours, I've decided to toss in my hat once again and run the risk of giving the impression of some has-been who's got nothing better to do but run for office... because I've likely got not much else better to do anyway. (See: Vermin Supreme.)
As I mentioned during my previous run, I've got some adminning experience under my belt, which might come in handy every now and again.
Thankfully, this place isn't nearly as bad as MicroWiki or the Navy, but I have some experience in navigating nasty situations -- and stepping out when I've got money on one of the dogs in the race. In those events, I will do my best to adhere to the community's highest standards in those regards. Hopefully, we'll never need it in the future and most of this paragraph will just be a waste of space. (See: United States Congress.)
I'm not exactly as new here as others in the community, with my 2 year mark coming up this October. Some of you know me, and the rest usually think that I'm a pretty chill guy. I have lots of writing experience, and some of my recent work appears as walls of text that nobody really wants to read because I tend to forget that all-important tl;dr at the end of the 50 pages I just wrote on the wiki or on Discord on some esoteric subject nobody talks about. (Something something something bugs, something something something college.)
It'd be a privilege to serve the community on the Council, if I'm selected. While my spare time will take a hit with my college starting up soon (again), I'll still endeavor to fulfil my responsibilities as a member to the best of my ability. If I find I can't hack it, I'll let you know in advance rather than pull a Jack the instant I'm not feeling up to it.
Once again, thank you very much for both your consideration and support.
Shiro, aka Cosmic Fury
PS:
tl;dr: I'm not Jack, and I approve this message.

Re: New Junior applications
Hello everyone!
After numerous AN years of being active in the Micrasian community I have seen numerous changes within the council and I believe it needs change for the better. With the council being the most prestigious organisation of the community, it needs to become somewhat more stable. The council needs to be free of members with toxic behaviour towards others in the council and general community who invest a substantial amount of their own personal time into the hobby and the community as whole. The new Junior member of the MCS Council would need to be involved with the Micrasian community in as many ways as possible, whether that be involved in organisations such as the FMS and MTO, both of which are very significant in their own right. Furthermore, the Junior Council Member should be impartial in their decisions should they need to make one and be regularly active and committed for the challenge.
I believe I would be for the challenge. After a healthy period of regular activity and involvement in organisations such as the FMF and MTO, I have the knowledge of how the community works and even though the early days of my Micrasian career has changed the community in many ways and my map skills still sort of suck. I will promise to be impartial to all regardless of in character politics and the micronationalist him/herself. I am confident that I will succeed in this important role and I would promise not to let any member of the community down.

Re: New Junior applications
Alright, my first attempt ever to join the Council... I hate this kind of paperwork. But here we go!
*Coughs*
I doubt that there is anyone on the Council who doesn't know me. I have been active in this sector for 14 years now and have seen nations come and go. When it comes to experience, one could consider me a right choice.
If one wants to claim 'neutrality', I can only refer to projects I did in the (recent) past: while being member of the USSO, I have decent work relations with several Raspurites (thinking of Ardy, Edgard,...). In Batavia, I aided the Shirerithian Kaiseress on the throne and the International Mandate is also quickly becoming a city in which peoples who would kill each other elsewhere are co-operating. While not a robot, I think I would be a good choice in a search for someone who at least tries to act as an unbiased council member.
That being said, I believe a council member must have certain skills to aid the Administrator-General when necessary. I don't think that anybody can have any doubts about my map making skills. Here are only a few examples: https://micras.org/wiki/images/7/7a/Tiegang_map.png & https://micras.org/wiki/images/f/f2/Fou ... s_1687.png
So yes, that's it.
P.S.: perhaps something useful: I read the Charter. May perhaps be a good requirement when joining the council...

Re: New Junior applications
Dear fellow MCS members, i would like to apply for the vacant position.
I know i have literally no chances; however i would like to test my luck, and to see how the whole thing works.
Althrough a newcomer, i think i have familiarised myself with most Micras aspects. I have tried to be as friendly and helpfull as i can. I have been (and continiue to be) involved in some aspects that have not been good; however, i have (mostly) shown that i am able to manoevre in difficult situations.
Any opinions i would need to take would not be biased; from what you have possibly read on the wiki (I have not finished them, i need much work yet), Graecia is a trully neutrall nation; Having implemented a policy of pact neutrality, and having only a few allies and no enemies (sort of), any decision would not be affected by any pact or overlord's agenta. It may be notable that Graecia is the only Graeco-Communist nation on Micras (bassically, the only Communist one), so, in the case i'm elected, this would add a bit diversity.
This said, i believe i can fuliffil the basic requirements that a Junior council member.
Best regards, Eugene Friedriechsen

Re: New Junior applications
Applications are now closed; thank you to the four interested individuals! The Council shall now decide its next Junior and an announcement shall be made once a majority vote has been reached
Re: New Junior applications
DECISION OF THE COUNCIL
28 August 2020
The Council has decided that its membership shall be as follows:
- Craitman H. Pellegrino ("Craitman")
Administrator-General
Joe Foxon ("Joe")
Barnaby Hands ("Senya")
Ric Lyon ("Ric")
Malliki Tosha ("Malliki")
Senior Councillors
Jonas Windsor ("Jonas Windsor")
Junior Councillor
Re: New Junior applications
I think the last sentence should be removed now. Nothing in the new charter about seeking confidence and as we said before, the wording is problematic. I would also prefer if the decision only lists the junior councillor appointment since that is our only decision. There is no point in listing the rest of the council as well.
