Council's new look

Re: Council's new look
Jingdao will tolerate this council, even though we feel that Shiro should have been appointed secretary-general.
Re: Council's new look
On the question posed of confidence in the selection of Jack as junior member, Sanama and the United Isles vote AYE.
Re: Council's new look
Senya also votes AYE.
In all honesty, when I vote for a new junior, I look at mainly a candidate's activity and knowledge of the sector, which is why I voted for Jack. I agree that Shiro would have been a welcome addition, but the council isn't here to play favourites (frankly, there's people in this community that I like who wouldn't make good candidates that I like).

Re: Council's new look
Just to clarify, this is not about the general composition of the Council, it is about the selection of Jack as junior council member.

Re: Council's new look
These requests for confidence have never been interpreted as a literal vote before, so I'm not sure I understand what's going on here. I personally would have voted for Shiro, but Jack already had a majority before I was able to cast my vote. I personally have full confidence in the decision of the Council, and if a literal vote is the way we're going, then Mercury supports the decision too.

Re: Council's new look
The UGB endorses the Jack, even as it holds to the belief that the Shiro would have been a perfectly good appointment to have made as well.
All this has happened before, and all this will happen again.
Re: Council's new look
Since I've been used here as an argument by Bijaro, I gotta say, while I strongly prefer someone new sit in the Council, I have no problem with Jack doing it. After all, the Council isn't perfect, we should allow a mistake or two. (I'm joking.)

Re: Council's new look
Meckelnburgh reiterates many of the concerns of the Bassarids. We find that appointing a member as councilor who entirely quit the community within the preceding few days highly irregular. This is especially true considering the absurd circumstances of their quitting.
However, we have seen the quality effort they have put into the council in the last few days, and thus ABSTAIN from any objection.

I have refrained from commenting on this exchange of opinions from a diverse array of MCS members (though the arguments of one in particular have been the source of some contained private amusement). It seems to me however that if you abstain from objection, then you confirm you have faith in the current council composition, no? Or are you neutral in this matter?James E Wilary wrote: ↑Mon Jun 22, 2020 7:03 amMeckelnburgh reiterates many of the concerns of the Bassarids. Re: Council's new look
It has been well over a week since the appointment was announced, and only one person has spoken in opposition to it, so the Council intends to continue with the current composition.

I thank the members of the MCS for their trust in me.
