Council member resignation and nominations
The MCS is disheartened to announce it has accepted the resignation of Gerald Ruze of Gerenia in his position on the Administrative Council. Having been affiliated with the Council since becoming Junior member in 2014, we would like to thank Gerald for his work and involvement, and wish him the best with his other projects.
In light of this, Forn Siðr Fúrstafrúa has been promoted from Junior to full Council member.
As such, we are now looking for a new Junior. Anyone who wishes to apply for the role should respond to these criteria by Sunday 3rd September, unless any extension is subsequently added:
Applicants should, in no more than 500 words, summarise why they believe they are a suitable candidate for the Junior Council member position and specify any individual skills which could come in handy for any prospective future projects.
Craitgodspeed!

Re: Council member resignation and nominations
I'd like to have a crack at it.
I've been diddling around on Micras in various incarnations since 2003, and like to think I'm familiar with the geography. Until now I've declined to apply for membership for the Council due to being far too buried in some alliance/scandal or other - but now, with my only citizenship being the one-man effort that is Kalgachia, I find myself in a better position to impart the impartial than I've ever been.
Others have observed that I enjoy working with pixels; I don't think I've ever been forced to revise an MCS claim submission on technical grounds, and generally place great importance on colour and name placement for legibility and general aesthetic appeal (the ever so slightly different hues of Shirerithian red on the map are something I've found consistently irksome - maybe we can fix that). Having done no small amount of cultural work in various nations and picked up a couple of FNORDs along the way, I'm no stranger to the essential relationship between social/political development and cartographic plausibility, and have always sought to work within these limits when presenting my own claims over the years.
I echo the thanks for Gerald's work, and I hope he remains working on Gerenia for a long time to come.

I agree with the nomination of Krasniy, but also think someone should put forth Ryker's name, despite his relative newcomer status (compared to old timers like Krasniy) if there is some sort of issue with Mr Yastreb's nomination.

That'd have to be Ryker then...
Re: Council member resignation and nominations
Sorry boys, another time maybe. Kras deserves this one.

Au contraire, it's a suitably elegant variant of a rather coarser metaphorOrion wrote:I don't think "diddling" is the right word.

Jingdao supports the self-nomination of Satan.
Re: Council member resignation and nominations
I'd like to go on record publicly and once again thank Gerald for his work in the council over the past few years. His contribution has been invaluable.
