Vote of confidence
Today marks ten years since I was unexpectedly thrust into the position of Administrator-General of the MCS by the outgoing Pete.
A whole decade in charge has genuinely flown by, despite this reign being well above the average span of an AdGen's career (an average I've certainly boosted as the outlying piece of data that I'm wont to be), and I still enjoy keeping Micras updated the best I can.
I'd like to think that my time as the head of the MCS can be characterised by an increase in community involvement in the running of the organisation; opening the Council to public viewing, expanding the forum from just the MCS to the whole Hub, amending the Charter multiple times based on member suggestions, and holding votes over certain aspects of the map.
Because of this - and because I never want to appear like I'm staying in this role through sheer avarice - I'd like to ensure that my position is still tenable in the eyes of the MCS's membership, so I wish to motion a vote of confidence on myself
I'll begin a proper voting procedure shortly, I just wanted to announce my intentions on the tenth anniversary itself!

Re: Vote of confidence
Sweet! A chance to insert pointless anarchy!
Or so I'd say most of the time. Quite honestly, I've got zero objections from this quarter. You're doing a good job as it is, and this community's a lot better for it. Micras has managed to remain relatively drama-free for a very long time thanks in large part to your efforts, and it's because of this stability that I'd rather see you sticking around.
As they say, it's best not to fix what's not broken.

Re: Vote of confidence
Happy 10th anniversary Anyone else would have succumbed to insanity by now.
Personally I think your departure from the role, whenever that may be, will entail the end of Micras. Your replacement by anyone else around here (self included) would be a definite step down in quality and at this point, I don't think the community would survive a return to the misrule shown by some of your predecessors or another Giessian schism.
I don't know what's kept you going these ten years and perhaps you don't either, but keep doing it.

Re: Vote of confidence
Thank you for the kind words, guys. I'd hope that Micras wouldn't collapse if I ever did leave though!
At this point, I have no idea how I'm still here - nothing better to do, perhaps

Fishing for compliments?
In that case, I will quote from our liturgy.
In that case, I will quote from our liturgy.
Oh Craitman on Micras,
praise to your name.
Your rule will endure,
your sheeple will bow.
Give us our pixels,
and forgive us our claims,
as we have expanded too much.
And please never leave us,
but always draw maps.

Re: Vote of confidence
You're fitting this position very well as I said somewhere before. I saw too many people being admin or head of something while they actually were just completely jerks for that role.
So your position is still ok for me.

For the short time I've been here, you've been great! No objections from me!

Thank you all!
I'd very much appreciate the above support/sycophancy being translated into votes here
