Missiles
Just missiles. I seem to recall a rule against "being silly with missiles" at one point. Anyway, the point of this topic is: should missiles be limited in any way, and if so, how?

Re: Missiles
this issue just keeps coming up doesnt it.
personally im not sure if we could incorporate a rule into missile usage. excepting saying you have to declare how many you have at the start or something but that would be a major hassle.
maybe a gentleman's agreement?

Re: Missiles
I was thinking some sort of rule along the lines of "x per launcher" (whatever's a reasonable amount) - after you've used that much, you have to go to a military base and refuel (so if you're out in the ocean and never return home, you have limited missiles). Alternatively, x per launcher per week (if the war goes on a long time, you can be considered to have made more).
Or ... this would be interesting ... we could make people cost individual missiles separately to their launchers (considering the strength of missiles). But I'm not suggesting that one seriously.

Re: Missiles
I think the cue should be taken from R/L - vessels have a finite storage capacity for missiles and these should be included in the specifications given at the start of the conflict, similarly as noted elsewhere a VLS cannot be reloaded at sea so each warship - once it has expended its payload must make for a friendly port for replenishment of stores.
In fact I think we should make it a rule of thumb that while a warship can head into any friendly port to seek repairs it may only seek to replenish its missile stockpile from its designated home port.

Re: Missiles
this is where we need to define use of support ships as support ships do exist to rearm VLS tubes at sea... I think... even if they dont they wouldn't be that hard to dream up/design...

Re: Missiles
Agreed with ardashir and demon.
However, instead of home port, any national port should suffice. I would have added 'naval' port, but there's a high chance someone will come and say, 'all our ports are naval ports'.
Also, when supply ships are present, I suggest:
1. public post detailing where the supply ship and the combat vessel are going to meet.
2. 24 hours before the combat vessel can be resupplied to max.
This is only for missiles of VLS type.
Torpedoes, ammunition for guns, missiles for helicopters, etc... need not follow the above process.

Agreed that other types of ammunition and supplies aren't limited like this, as they're easier to get and the power of their strikes is considerably less. You seem to be handling the limiting discussion well - when you're ready, write up a clause and I'll add it to the amendments.
