Elections
Anunia has now, due to vocal demand, become a proper organisation (or at least, there's a proper organisation to oversee the charter). As such, there now needs to be a Board of Trustees. The roles are as follows:
There shall be a period of two weeks where people can nominate themselves for any position they want to stand for. You can stand for multiple positions. After two weeks, I shall create a poll in this forum for each position. Voting shall last for a week. After that point, the candidate with the most votes shall win each position. Where a candidate wins multiple positions I'll contact them and they can choose which one they take up, and the second highest person in the other position will win. In the case of a tie, and neither candidate receiving another position, a bi-election will be held between those two candidates. If there's still a tie after another week, the other board members will have the casting votes.
Yes, this system doesn't allow well for the person who should obviously get a position but comes second in every actual vote. Oh well. It seems better to let people vote for who they want in each position rather than just who they want in at all and then let those five fight it out among themselves for who gets what. And yes, a forum poll is not the most secure of election options, but since any recwarrer can vote, and anyone who's been in the last couple international recwars is registered on this forum, it should work. If there are any papel accounts registered here, I ask that you don't vote.
The convention doesn't say how elections are handled, so I'll manage them for this one, and the Board can look at explaining that further later. I'm not standing for any position and so am relatively impartial. It'll happen like this:The Board of Trustees shall be made up of 5 Members;
i. The Chair of the Board of Trustees, responsible for chairing debate of Board as well as bringing proposals for discussion. He shall be tasked with preserving the spirit of the Anunia ruleset.
ii. The Judicial Member, responsible for selecting and preserving the standards of a Board approved recwar judiciary.
iii. The Unit Costing Member, responsible for maintaining the unit costing lists and providing guidelines upon direction from a judge.
iv. The Common Law Member, responsible for maintaining the Common Law of recwar (non-Annunia included) and providing it upon direction from a judge.
v. The Ordinary Member.

I'll stand as Unit Costing Member.
How come you're not standing for this Andreas? I was hoping when I put this idea forward that you'd stand and be on the Board.

Re: Elections
I was originally planning to also, but I'm not sure I like the direction I'm going, and also not sure how widely held my views are. So I figure it easier if I just express my views as an individual voting rather than as a board member.

Re: Elections
one problem i forsee is getting five different members to fill this place up... with at best 3-2 towards any particular school of recwar.
Bah, I shall stand as well. Which position? um... how about all except the unit costing one? Then depending upon how the others come in, I shall start thinking about which position to give away.

Re: Elections
Fair enough then. I hope you reconsider though because it would be brilliant to have someone of your experience and tact to argue against us storytelling realists! Please spread the word amongst the Novatainians and Tokidokans though and ask if any of them would be interested in standing.Andreas the Wise wrote:I was originally planning to also, but I'm not sure I like the direction I'm going, and also not sure how widely held my views are. Every organisation needs a jack of all trades but a master of none.
BTW, posted on your Keltian Agreement site after you got in touch with the Ocian Federation.

Re: Elections
Alas, it was the arguing that put me off. If the roles really can't be filled I'll reconsider. I think the problem is game balance vs realism, but I'm tired of saying it and recognise that not everyone wants a balanced recwar. But I'll certainly pass this onto Novatainia/Toketi for anyone interested.Lord_Montague wrote:Fair enough then. Re: Elections
Chair: Extreme, Andreas
Judicial: Ardashir, Extreme
Unit Costing: Montague
Common Law: Extreme
Ordinary: Lewis, Jess, Extreme
Any one else?
Since Extreme was applying for a bunch, if no one else goes for Chair/Common Law I'll put myself down for chair, just so the positions can all be filled. If I get in though, there's going to be a big discussion re costing and strength ....
