Ending the ForumCheck
Having "missed" July's check, I think it is time to draw a line under my time of running the ForumCheck.
Since February 2013, it has been both a pleasure and a curse running the ForumCheck to judge activity within the nations on Micras. In total, 93 checks were undertaken around the start of every month since taking the reins after Spangle's original ForumList stopped working. With the MCS adopting a new Charter designed to focus more on the quality of the content produced within nations - a change reflecting the shift of our community as a whole towards collaborating on the wiki as opposed to separate forums - the idea of counting forum posts is effectively obsolete.
I had intended to at least run the ForumChecks into the ground at the end of the year with the hundredth edition to reach an arbitrary milestone and set a new trend in motion for 2021, but a busy period at the start of July meant that I completely forgot about this month's checks, so I can't think of a better point to call time for good than after that blip.
With the MCS now no longer reliant on the ForumCheck data, I will be undertaking my own personal activity checks on the wiki on a more graded scale; being primarily qualitative data, it will inevitably be subjective, and I am always welcome to receive evidence that a nation is more active than I had originally rated. These checks will be (and have been over previous months as I set things up) publicly visible, so fellow Council members are perfectly within their rights to use them for judgement calls on reductions or removals if they trust my stance on activity, and are more of a guide than strict data as a ninety-day period of inactivity will rarely coincide with exact calendar months, for example.
Now, go and figure-out better ways to have pissing contests than "Huzzah" threads and one-word stories, or whatever forums were good for back in the day

100 bottles of beer on the wall, 100 bottles of beer, you take one down, pass it around, 99 bottles of beer on the wall...
