So... Troop types
How will troop types be managed?
Will there be generic "tank" "plane" "ship" "submarine" etc? or will people be able to chose from a range of different makes and models of tanks, planes etc or will they be able to chose any make and model they like or even make their own?

I say forces be divided into
LAND
Infantry
Light Armoured Vehicles (IFVs, APCs)
Heavy Armoured Vehicles (Big ol' Tanks)
AIR
Fighters
Bombers
Helicopters
NAVAL
Battleships
Small ships (Destroyers, Frigates)
Submarines
Aircraft Carriers
And then within each we have more detailed specifications allowing some customisability.

From what I'm led to believe we're discussing what symbols to use on Ares to denote ships, tanks, planes etc?
Due to the need to streamline communications and all that over a number of different military forces, NATO created a system of symbols so each force wouldnt get mixed up over what was the symbol for a tank regiment in Germany and what was symbol for a tank regiment in Britain etc.
That's what wikipedia says on it.....http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/APP-6A
