One-man micronation?
Does MCS allow a one-man micronation?
Basically, all I am interested in is a small island somewhere for like one city or something. It would allow me to participate in wars as a mercenary. Kind of like, pay my nation some money and get its services in a recwar.
If this is possible, I'll setup the forums and everything right away.

I think nominally there's something in the rules against one man micronations. However, if they stick to a small island and don't have illusions of grandeur, it's probably fine.

Why not do something similar to Chelkran Kesh?
It was sort of Toketi, but outside Toketi...
Sort of MicroMicroNation within a Micronation

It didn't fit in my avatar...

Mania worked with its tiny island. I'm all for one-man nations if they're small

Why would you even need an independent micronation for this? There're lots of nations out there who would allow you to be an autonomous "satellite" state.
Re: One-man micronation?
Aye, but if it was a satellite then that would negate the ability to act as a mercenary and thus be militarily independent.
For example, if he were to obtain a contract to attack Ocia but were a satellite of Cerulea that might cause repercussions against Cerulea. As an independent state he would suffer the consequences independently; or negligably since it's a mercenary state. Considering the entire concept is geared towards war, any nation accepting this as a satellite would have to take that into consideration.

Plus, he might join a nation that doesn't warrant the expansion to accomodate a new satellite state

Extreme, I'll sell you a (small) Babkhan island in return for some assistance with a little project up in Ashkenatza.

Re: One-man micronation?
Can I be a member of MCS, without actually having any land directly given to me by MCS?
So, while I wait for the 2 months rule, I could be on the map on land I get from other nations, like for instance this Babkhan Island.
Ardy, contact me in my nation. Atleast that way Jeremy will be able to see 1 post in my 'stupid' nation.

The nation isn't stupid, it's the fact you put no effort into any of the names or anything. If you actually named the islands after planets in star wars etc, it would be awesome.

You can have a Babkhan island (for example) on the map, sure. That's all internal, so it's fine if it's all sorted with Babkha. You'll obviously come under Babkhan rule and map colour then. Then when you're old enough, you can secede...

Why not grab a number of people make a anarchy state on an island, then it will have multiple people, and no government to hassle with.

Re: One-man micronation?
I actually thought of putting the names of the planets as the island names. But then thought, I am not going to really have that many places. So, what's few and awesome? oh right. Darth Vader is awesome. Hey, I could name all the places after the Darths. I suppose Darth could stand for "city". And thus, the three cities were Darth Vader, Darth Sidious and Darth Maul. Vader being the awesomest goes on the bigger island and is the capital. Sidious being the mysterious person, goes in the middle. This city will be sort of mysterious, in the same realm as berth place of Black Pearl was in the movie POTC. And Maul being the minor, but evil looking chap, gets the smaller island.
I do intend to put more cities or towns eventually alongside Vader. Though they wont be star wars themed. In the works, are a place for Castle Grayskull.
And I was thinking of going star wars themed in the naming of forums as well. For instance, the army section was called (and had a forum made but then deleted), called "Grand Army of the Mercenary Empire" (or GAME for short). Grand Army of the Empire being the clone army, if you remember. But that became a bit hard for naming other navy and airforce (couldn't figure out interesting short forms).
Then it hit me the fact that a mercenary nation doesn't have time for names. Name would/should be given to it by the enemies. Our job is to simply do our task and kill the enemy, and let the enemy give us names. At that point, I basically said, "screw the names. just get the forums done."
Erik.. at the moment, there is no government. Its just me, as head of state. If another person joins (gets citizenship or whatever), we'll have to figure out what to do then. At the moment, its just 1 person, me.

I am doing something moderately similar, however instead of a completely independent nation, I use Outer Heaven as my mercenary base, and is contained within an autonomous territory of Cerulea. Perhaps, we could work together in the future
