Re: Probably leaving
Yup, I agree with you - you should just ignore him. I know that it's quite hard, especially in your primary language (it always hurts more when you insult someone in his own words...), but you should try to be not concerned.

Re: Probably leaving
Just blame him for absolutely everything even if he or Ocia have nothing to do with it. He'll soon get annoyed and go away.
Re: Probably leaving
I did make this decision because of a fairly foul mood, but even then, I stand by it as a matter of principle. A man who seeked to annex nations like Uantir and Hamland for his own gain was not acting in the interests of the hobby. Rather than say he was sorry he merely broke out in a full blown attack on me with lies.
I firstly think he should be punished and made an example of because we must be seen to be trying to uphold a certain degree of behavior, and also I think his lies about me are worthy of punishment.
I will try to find more evidence, but I stand by the fact that bad action causes for a strong reaction,

Yes but just as his actions are in the context of acting so as to maximising his chances of "success" in this "game"/"hobby"/"perverse waste of time" so should yours be also.

You go and you let him win Lewis. Do you want that?
Also, from what I'm aware you want to go into politics or are at least very interested in it? You're walking out because someone is opposed to you and keeps attacking you? Does not bode well Lewis.

Re: Probably leaving
I understand Lewis' points, however I smell hypocrisy in this thread.
People are saying for Lewis to ignore him, however, the reason he does things which Lewis finds irritating is because nobody annoys him. Everyone is quite happy to argue with him, even a civilised debate will be seen as 'attention'. Surely it would be in everyone's interests to just ignore him until he hits puberty?

Re: Probably leaving
It's not a matter of letting him win. Nor is it a fear of someone attacking me, what I have a problem is that he is extremely dishonest and has done so much negativity to the community and he goes un-punished because apparently it's better to ignore people if they are being annoying and also apparently it's better to have someone who is causing a negative effect than I think this community misunderstands standards. You go and you let him win Lewis. Do you want that?

We don't let criminals just rampage about in real life and just tell people to ignore them (unless you're a liberal) because we know that there has to be a moral standard that people comply with. If someone does not go along with these rules then they are punished. I happened to get bullied for a short time in school, and ignoring them didn't make them go away, telling someone and getting the problem sorted eventually did. Now I'm trying to get people to understand that Kovac has tried to annex 2 nations in a dishonest manner, he's spied on countries who didn't care about them, he treats other people in the hobby like dirt and he's frankly unbelievably delusional. All of the things he has done (If i wanted to waste my time researching then I would) have gone unpunished because people try to ignore him. Ignoring utter prats saying they add to the community isn't what we should be doing, it's taking action against them.
Now if I leave I leave in protest, I'm not giving up. I leave because I don't want to be in a community where I try and simulate a country for fun and someone tries to annex it because he's a megalomaniac and then puts all sorts of lies about me for apparently being dishonest. I want to be in a community where we have a pinned post telling users what is acceptable and what is not. Kovac's behaviour I'm sure you'll all agree is unacceptable and as a victim of this behaviour I don't want people to tell me to just leave it because in my opinion that is wrong.
What's the use of having someone in the community we all ignore when we ignore them because they are not of any use. This is some sort of messed up punishment system which is unofficial and frankly amateurish. I'm leaving in protest because I want to see the community have standards, and if he is indeed banned then I will stay and try to make a code of conduct we can all agree on and use to give punishment in future with.
However if I'm in a community where people can make up all sorts of lies and attack my integrity, which is the biggest insult to me, and if I feel that this is unfair and all I'm told is to ignore it then I don't want to be here because I shouldn't have to put up with it, I want the people here to know that we have to behave in a respectful manner.
So that's why I give you this, because I don't want to be harassed and have to just ignore it. And if the opinion is that we cna just let people away with that then I'm leaving and going to just find something else to do.

There are rules as there are laws in the real world and they've not been broken, he's less analagous to a criminal in the real world and more so to a tw@t, who are often let roam around the real world

Could you lead an extremist fascist state in the real world? You’ve manipulated what I’ve said far more than you would like to believe.

Re: Probably leaving
Are you suggesting you have deliberately structured Ocia to make it an extremist fascist state in all but name? That actually explains rather a lot ...
