- ROFLCOPTER.
- Yes, I am a male. My real name is James Davies, although I far prefer to be addressed as Jamie in conversation, for it is what I am used to.
- Moreover, I am not the leader of Beaugium. Any amount of research does indeed reveal that.
- I would appreciate that (what is apparently now) MY nation not be listed incorrectly on your somewhat sanctimonious list. If you do wish to list it, you can seek approval from me first... however you wont get it, and I refuse to have my names on the pages of an organisation with an ego almost as big as mine. So that can come down now.
- I'm beginning to sense a losing battle here. Why you're still fighting it, I ain't got a clue. If you do continue to battle on an irritate more people than Jess on amphetamines, then I'd have to request your removal, and I'm sure Spangle would be more than happy to oblige, after all, it's his gaff apparently...

You guys shouldn't be too hard on this poor List of Micronations guy. He's still new to this hobby, you know, so he's got to desperately pretend he's important somehow. Insulting the current status quo is as decent way to do it as any. Worked just fine for me.
He'll probably be really interesting to listen to in a year or two when how totally insignificant all of his "accomplishments" have been. If he's still around then, anyway.

Sai, I think this listofmicronations guy might be Emperor George II of Atlantium, which is actually a pretty neat nation. Nothing incredibly creative, kinda standard "pictures of majestic eagles and everyone gets a nice Latin-sounding title" sort of thing, but lots of staying power, pretty big, does some good history and micropatriology, and manages to run a good real-world community without falling into Tallini or Talossa levels of craziness. I actually had a lot of respect for Emperor George before...well...this...and I still think Atlantium's one of the best real-world micronations.Sai'Kar wrote:You guys shouldn't be too hard on this poor List of Micronations guy. But my point is, it's been around for twenty-something years, so your "he's new to the hobby" excuse doesn't really hold. As the saying goes, "you're only young once, but you can stay immature forever".

Aren't they the secessionist morons who tried to stop paying taxes to Australia, then had a hissy fit when their Wikipedia article was deleted?
Either way, I can tell that that guy is a massive douche.

Simulationism is a hobby.
Seccessionism is a way of life.
Which one actually saps more time, money, and public credibility from you? Seccessionism.

Though, if that's true, it opens up whole new levels of "...wait, what?" factors. Like how he's managed to be in the hobby this long and not notice the incredible attrition rate of newer nations as compared to the ones that survive. Or the fact that the old generation doesn't ever seem to realize that they're taking to younger versions of themselves. We Apollos were young and stupid back then, but then we (mostly) matured and the quality of the nations we produced went up and now we're the new college-and-young-workforce era micronationalists while there's a new high-school-and-younger age of micronationalist training and filling in the gaps. The ones that stay in the hobby will the the real movers and shakers, just like we were and the generation before us was.
Sure there's an uncomfortable amount of really silly people on this forum, but it's hardly classy to judge people harshly for being young and inexperienced. Not sure how the older generations think they can get away with it.
