I'm pleased to announce the long-awaited latest update to the LOM portal and associated lists of micronations is now online:
http://www.listofmicronations.com
http://www.listofmicronations.com/listphysical.html
http://www.listofmicronations.com/listvirtual.html
We now have paid hosting too, so those annonying pop-up ads have been banished forever.
Stand by for further updates.

Re: List of Micronations - update
Let me remind you of something. Relevant bits are highlighted for you, because obviously plain text just washes straight through.
Go and read those bold bits again.
So instead of actually listening to me (Heaven forbid!) You have taken the bits which are helpful to you, and come up with:- Yes, I am a male. My real name is James Davies, although I far prefer to be addressed as Jamie in conversation, for it is what I am used to.
- Moreover, I am not the leader of Beaugium. Any amount of research does indeed reveal that.
- I would appreciate that (what is apparently now) MY nation not be listed incorrectly on your somewhat sanctimonious list. If you do wish to list it, you can seek approval from me first... however you wont get it, and I refuse to have my names on the pages of an organisation with an ego almost as big as mine. So that can come down now.
There is only so much exasperation one person can go through.Beaugium

Is Republic of Interland listed there the Polish Interland? If so, it's active, not defunct...

As the king of Bosworth I politely request you remove it for your list.

Thanks for the corrections. They have been implemented.
Any assistance to help fill in the remaining blanks is always welcome; this is an evolving ongoing project.
To the Bosworth guy: no. We do not airbrush micronations out of the historical record.

*Scott takes a deep breath*
If you are who I think you are, you're most interested in real-world micronations. You aren't too familiar with the ways of most of the simulationist/virtual community, nor with the status or details of most of the micronations in it. And you've already alienated enough people here that most of us will feel uncomfortable being on your list anyway. May I humbly suggest you stick to the list of "real-world" micronations (which seems much more complete and much more useful), and perhap make a deal with Dr. Spangle that you'll link to his list of virtual ones if he links to your list of real ones?
So, those are the As. I don't have enough time to fix the rest of the list, but I see equally many flaws with it. And I don't know most virtual micronations, so I'm sure there were several errors in the As that I missed. If you want to do this right, you're going to have to put a lot of effort into it.Adrasia's contact is Will Tomsett, but he's gone and Adrasia is defunct. You can find the appropriate link at Spangle's list.
Aerlig merged with Treesia at some point; if you want a link to them at all, you should ask Lachlan what the new nation is called. Iain de Vembria is involved in this somehow, and might be a better person to ask than Lachlan.
Antica's full name is Republic of Antica. It can be found at http://www.nafticon.org/phpBB3/, and is active. The best contact is probably Nick Leghorn; I don't feel comfortable giving out his contact info, but you can find him on the Antican forum and ask him for it. There is also a Dinarchy of Antica, which is defunct. The contact for that goes by the Internet handle "Delphi Augustus"; I don't feel comfortable giving out his real name, but Nick Leghorn can put you in touch with him if you want to pursue the issue.
Alexandria's full name is Empire of the Alexandrians, and it is active. You can get the link from Spangle's forum list. Contact is Ed Carrillo.
Amity is not a micronation, it's a territory of Shireroth's. It has never been independent and should not be included. It is only included on Spangle's list because it has its own forum, and Spangle's is a list of forums and not a list of micronations. Say, did you just copy that directly off of Spangle's? If that's your plan, you're going to end up with a lot of similar forums-that-are-not-micronations problems.
Your Amokolian contact is Jess Heimer, USA, and it is not defunct but active. You should check whether they're still a "Royal Amokolian Republic"; it doesn't sound right to me. I believe the forum on your list is not the current one. Ask Jess about this, or find the information on Spangle's list.
The Amoria contact would be a guy who doesn't want us using his real name on here anymore. It's defunct. If you want to pursue the issue or get more information, PM the user "Prinz Leopold" on this forum.
Your Anthelia contact is John Darcy; you already have him as the Novasolum contact. Anthelia and Novasolum may or may not actually be identical; Darcy would know. And they might prefer to be classified as physical; again, Darcy would know. In any case, it's defunct.
"Apollo" appears to be the Union of Apollo States, which was never actually just called "Apollo" by anyone. It existed as a union of other micronations, and only for one month, from November to December 2000, and has been defunct for the past nine years.
Ardrasia's link doesn't work. The whole entry may or may not be a typo for "Adrasia".
Back when the Aryan National Socialist Empire existed, the micronational world made a decision, which I thought was a pretty good one, to ignore them as trolls and not to do things like put them on big micronational lists.
Ascalon's full name is "Most Serene Empire of Ascalon". I think they're closer to a real micronation than a virtual one, although they had a discussion board a couple of years ago. They're somewhere in Michigan, have a few hundred people offline and almost no one online, and they were debating shutting down their offline presence, which I think they might have done.
Ashkenatza's info can be found at Spangle's list. Contact Max here for more information; he can also fill out your Matbaa entry for you.
Athlon has been reabsorbed by Natopia, I think. You should ask Nate Shepherd about that. You can find him here or around Natopia.
Attera is listed as led by "Mi'kel Square Makonnen." The leader of Attera occasionally called himself "Mi'kel Tzion", and occasionally "Diga Makonnen", but never combined the two names in the way you're doing. Also, he was sort-of-overthrown by a coup attempt that plunged the nation into civil war. There are now two Atteras, one of which is led by him and is "real" and possibly active, the other of which is not led by him, virtual, and probably defunct. You might want to sort this issue out, but then again, since it would involve having to talk to Atterans, you might not.

Re: List of Micronations - update
Thanks for that great lot of information.
As I've said many times before, it's a work in progress.
It's taken nearly 12 months to get the physical list to it's present state; as a consequence, I've only really made a cursory effort with the virtual list; that will change over the next few months.
I don't give a tinker's cuss if people here or anywhere else choose to get narky or precious about finding themselves the subject of my legitimate research and objective, comparative analysis.
Nobody "owns" micronationalism.

To the shitty list guy: I'm not asking for Bosworth to be airbrushed out history, I'm asking for it to be removed from your list.

About Batavia: it's "Koninkrijk Batavië" in Dutch, "Kingdom of Batavia" in English. You're using the old website (you can just refer to http://batavie.nl). A contact address is the forum, and otherwise the Netherlands and Belgium.

Corrections for my own nation -
Name: Craitland*
Long form: Kingdom of Craitland*
Email: adz _ mufc @ hotmail . com (minus the spaces)
Location: Devon, England
* - The spelling Cräiteland (with diæresis) is only for our own Craitish language. Craitland is the anglicised version.
That is all...

Thanks to those providing additional data/corrections.
I'll endeavour to incorporate your contributions into the list over the next day or two.
Bosworth guy: you may well be the dictator of Bosworth, but you are most certainly not not the dictator of me.

Re: List of Micronations - update
Thank god you haven't listed any of my nations.
I forbid you to list nations I ruled over. Thank you.
You won't be airbrushing them out as you haven't added them.
Nations I am forbidding you to add are as follows:
CIS
New-empire
Gosling
Oscland
Furthermore, If you add any of them, I will know you are purposely being contrary to my demands and action may be taken.
also, mine is a list of micronations, not just forums, it has many micronations without forums listed.
EDIT: just noticed I was too late for Jamzinia, it would be lovely if you removed it, but the point about DO NOT ADD stands for the other 4.

He did copy it, along with a large group of other nations, copying the names directly off my list without spending enough time to click one link to get more information, so it's likely he couldn't care less about accuracy of information if he can't be bothered to go through a tiny amount more effort.Scott Alexander wrote: Amity is not a micronation, it's a territory of Shireroth's. And I forbid you from forbidding me.dr-spangle wrote:I forbid you to list nations I ruled over.
Ah but I will be... now that you've so very kindly and inexplicably drawn them to my attention, and even provided me with the relevant URLs.dr-spangle wrote: ...you haven't added them.
No. You will know that I don't give a flying fig about your idiotic "demands", and your baseless threat.dr-spangle wrote: ...I will know you are purposely being contrary to my demands and action may be taken.
...which, as we all know, is a mortal sin.dr-spangle wrote: ...copying the names directly off my list without spending enough time to click one link to get more information...
Listen up, Little Miss Spangalicious, for I shall say zis only wance: my project is a work-in-progress, which has been underway for around 12 months, and is likely to continue being underway for quite some time to come; if you find the methodology I've decided to adopt for progressively adding chunks of placeholder entries to my list not to your liking, that's just tough titties - because - shock, horror - I'm not answerable to you for anything.
