Introducing the Apollo Aurora News Blog
First there was the Apollo Fireball. Then there was the Apollo Skyline. Then there was a whole big huge stretch of really spotty news coverage in the old Apollo sector, which was a travesty that nobody really got around to correcting. Until now.
http://apolloaurora.livejournal.com/
Aurora Media is pleased to introduce the Apollo Aurora news blog, dedicated to providing the news from my little sector of the hobby. In particular it will focus on news from the Small Commonwealth nations, though major news that makes its way into the big scene will also be covered.
The Apollo Aurora’s motto is timeliness, accuracy, and interest. We strive to provide the news as it happens, with all sides researched and examined, in a variety of areas that should appeal to every micronationalist.
We'll strive for updates several times a week, with editorials and various other articles ready in the case of a slow news day.
The Apollo Aurora and Aurora Media are very interested in partnering with other micronational news organizations. We are also interested in contributions and full-time journalists from nations outside of the Small Commonwealth, which is about as far as my general knowledge of micronational matters extends. And, of course, we gladly accept notifications, editorials, anonymous tips, and any other reason you’d want to contact a media company. Our email address is apolloaurora@livejournal.com , our website office is at http://bill3000.net/nelaga/viewforum.php?f=45 and comments can be left on the articles themselves.

huzzah! I personally like the newspaper format in Ashkenatza a little more, but it is far more labour intensive and in some respects isn't nearly as accessible and presentable. Good stuff!

That's two or three more than not too long ago...Matt Kovac2 wrote:Hardly, theres now only two or three active Media sources.

And there's 0 that cover the Small Commonwealth countries such as Shireroth, Nelaga, Gralus, Natopia, and so on. The Apollo Aurora's mission is to not simply be a single-nation news source, but cover things from as many nations as I can sink my teeth into. I'm also working on some canned articles for slow news days, such as look at the history of micronational warfare, the concept of territory, economics, various specific countries, and so on. Finally, all these wasted years in the hobby have a sort-of practical application!
Today's article features an interview with Emperor Konrad, the newly crowned Emperor of Natopia and their first change in head of state in their entire history. http://apolloaurora.livejournal.com/

Re: Introducing the Apollo Aurora News Blog
In what is a good incentive for me to not fall behind on the news, today's lengthy article covers four events - Shireroth's new Kaiser, the resignation of Nelagan President Jonas, the re-establishment of Goldshire as a duchy, and INTERNATIONAL CAPSLOCK DAY.

Since I'm not sure if I have anybody that actually watches the blog, I'll keep posting here when I do updates.
Also keep in mind that I'll gladly run any story or interview if people contact me. The hope is that eventually the Aurora will have the news before it becomes widely known and not always be playing catch-up on things everyone already knows, but that only works if you keep journalists such as yours truly here informed of upcoming events.

You should have it signed up for the Intermicronational News Feed (http://newsfeed.empireofthealexandrians.org/)... if people still use it. I'm not sure how many people look on there.

A more convenient News feed is the MillenniumNews Media group which can be found by clicking the Media group link on our website

Even more conveniently, it has already been included in MNN, with no additional clicking required.

Aurora Media would like to thank Jonas Windsor for submitting the Batavia article and also thank Micronations.net for adding the Apollo Aurora to their micronational news blog feeds.

Excellent, a new news provider, I look forward to reading it.
Now that the construction season is winding down, you should see some updates to the RIMA blog (http://www.micronationhistory.info) as well ... I put up an article on the Argaath-Perez Accords (i.e. Attera/Babkha relationship) and tried in vain to fix the thumbnail problems, so I switched it to another theme.
